		Welcome. This game to determine 3rd and 4th place at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup starts at 17:00 CEST/11:00 EDT.
		The two teams have just finished pre-game warmups in Breclav. Both of these teams finished 2nd in their respective groups and lost semifinals yesterday--the Czechs fell 5-3 here in Breclav and Russia 3-1 to Canada in Piestany. Russia is the designated home team in this game and is wearing primarily red uniforms with blue and white trim, red pants and helmets. The Czech Republic is designated as the visiting team for this game and is wearing primarily white uniforms with blue and red trim, red pants and blue helmets. In a surprise move, Jan Pechek is starting in goal for the Czech Republic. In his only previous start, against Switzerland, he was lifted after giving up 3 goals in 14 minutes. Maxim Sidorov is the starter for Russia, who beat Finland 7-3 in his only appearance so far.

		The Czech Republic takes to the ice and get quite a reception from this crowd, many of whom were here cheering themselves hoarse last night. Now the Russians skate onto the ice to a chorus of whistles, as expected. The national anthems are next.

	13:10	Giveaway in the Czech zone, but Kamenev's slapper is blocked.
	14:05	Long shot from the point by Filip Pyrochta whistles high and wide.
	15:04	Now with the Russians applying pressure the Czech net is dislodged. Faceoff inside.
	16:00	Lukas Vopelka shoots wide, then the Russians rush back and a shot is fired high off the glass.
	16:49	Sidorov catches a shoot-in and we have some pushing and shoving after the whistle--the first sign of emotion in this game.

	18:30	Russian 3rd line applies pressure, save Pechek and he holds.
	19:10	Ivan Nikolishin cuts in and tries to deke Pechek, but the puck slides wide of the far post.
	19:48	High shot from Vrana hits Sidorov in the shoulder.
	20:00	1st period finished.
		A relatively sleepy first period compared to yesterday, but that's perhaps to be expected. The Czechs played a very physical, high-tempo semifinal yesterday, the Russians had a long bus trip from Piestany, and both teams are surely disappointed with losing their semifinals. Emotions started to pick up late in the period, though, and as long as this game stays close, I'm sure we'll see for excitement as this goes along. 2nd period begins at 17:42 CEST, 11:42 EDT.

	20:15	Filip Pyrochta gets called for tripping in his own zone, Russia goes to the power play for the first time today.
	29:25	Radel Fazleyev tries to cut to the front of the net with the puck but gets knocked off stride, Czechs ice.
	22:17	Big hit by Maxim Lazarev on Ondrej Miklis behind the net, Miklis is shaken up but no call.
	22:25	But the Czechs are getting a penalty on the play, Jakub Zboril for tripping. After an uninspired first attempt, Russia goes back to the PP.
	23:51	Vladislav Kodola rips a wrist shot off the crossbar and out of play. That's the second time that's happened today. Faceoff outside with :34 left in the penalty.
	24:30	Czechs back to full strength, they rush through the neutral zone.
	25:00	What an inside-out move by David Pastrnak, undresses a Russian defenceman but then is hooked as he tries to make a move on Sidorov. Delayed penalty.
	25:08	Radel Fazleyev is getting the hooking penalty described in the previous post.
	25:50	Czechs really buzzing, a big scramble with Sidorov down and out and the fans thought it was in, sticks came up, but play continues.
	27:01	Maxim Lazarev takes a long shot on Pechek and then rushes in to get a faceoff in the attacking zone with :07 left in the penalty.
	27:50	Zacha shoots from a sharp angle, stick save Sidorov.
	28:40	Great toe-drag by Yevgeni Svechnikov, who then hits the post.
	29:01	The Czechs rush back the other way and Sidorov makes a nice save. Back and forth action, things really starting to pick up.

	31:07	The Russians reeling now. After giving up 2 goals 1:20 apart, they are now shorthanded as Daniil Vovchenko goes off for interference, trying to handle the Czech offence.
	31:33	And now another Russian penalty. Remember how I said this place was quieter than yesterday? Not now, they're going again. Ilya Dervuk is called for hooking.
	31:33	Timeout Russia. No shock here. They really need to curb this Czech momentum, down 2-0 and facing 1:34 of 3-on-5 time.
	31:43	Shot by Vrana, save Sidorov. He's going to have to come up big in the next little while if he wants to keep his team in this.

	37:46	A heavy collision in the Czech crease as Pechek and the puck both end up in the net. The Russians put their sticks in the air but the referee says no right away and send the faceoff outside on the crease violation. :48 left in the Czech power play.
	38:40	Russians back at full strength, play in the neutral zone.
	39:32	Frantisek Matula thwarts a Russian chance by dumping a Russian in front and goes to the box for interference. Jan Pechek also made a nice save on the play.
	40:00	2nd period finished.
		That period began in pretty much the similar fashion as the first, but the action started picking up as it went and the Czechs took over, scoring twice 1:20 apart and then continuing to press, forcing the Russians into taking two quick penalties. Russia called a timeout and they seemed to settle down, got some momentum from the big kill and then got a goal back and were the more dominant team in the late going. Their power play carries over into the start of the 3rd period. 3rd period begins at 18:29 CEST, 12:29 EDT.
		Teams return to the ice and the 3rd period will begin shortly.

		The Russians weren't able to get their goalie out until the last 10 seconds because the Czechs had them hemmed in, a last second shot at the empty net went off the goalpost but it doesn't matter. The Czechs hold on for the 3-2 victory.
		The Czechs flood over the bench and celebrate with goaltender Jan Pechek, who had a great game today, especially when the Russians were putting on enormous pressure late in the second and for most of the 3rd.
