Sweden with a convincing 6-0 victory in the opening game for each team in the 2013 Karjala Cup. Henrik Karlsson wasn't especially busy in the Swedish goal but he did make some very nice saves, particularly in the second period, to earn the shutout.

With Finland's victory over Russia today, the updated Euro Hockey Tour standings after 4 games each are: FIN 12, SWE 6, RUS 3, CZE 3.

The rest of the tournament will be played in Helsinki on Saturday and Sunday with two games each day, so come back to Eurolivescores for live commentary. As well, don't miss out on our coverage of the U20 tournament from Moscow this weekend, featuring the same four countries. That begins Friday. (21:16:10)

The puck deflects out of play in the Swedish zone and the faceoff is going outside, which effectively puts this game away.

    58:37
    Goal for Team Sweden!
He's probably had more shots on goal this game than anyone else and he finally scores, winning a race for the puck in the Czech zone and then beating Kovar with a nice little wrister just inside the post. Unassisted.

    58:08
Rolinek with the shot on a Czech rush, pad save Karlsson and the rebound is cleared.

Back the other way, Kovar with the pad save on Thornberg.

    54:22
Henrik Karlsson with another save, this one off of Ondrej Roman in close, who hits him in the chest.

    53:58
Swedish clearing attempt goes off the glass and out of play, faceoff back in the Swedish zone.

    53:19
    Offside Czech Republic.

    52:43
Vrana with a shot off the draw and Karlsson is sharp again, kicking it to the corner.

    52:38
A shot and Karlsson traps it against his body just after Danielsson's penalty expires. Back to 5-on-5.

    52:00
Nakladal out of the box, the Czechs to the power play.

    50:36
Sweden's Nicklas Danielsson upends Zbynek Irgl in front of the Czech net, he's called for tripping and so we'll have 4-on-4 hockey for 1:22.

    49:58
Sweden's Mattias Janmark-Nylén attempts a spinarama move to elude Czech defenceman Jakub Nakladal, Nakladal takes his skate out though and is called for tripping.

    49:05
Offside Sweden, the Czechs are back at full strength.

    47:45
Thornberg playing the point on the power play and lets go a big blast, pad save Kovar and the rebound is cleared away.

    47:02
Couple of chances for Sweden, I believe Moller and Ullstrom with the shots, but Kovar keeps it out.

    46:40
Now it's Sweden to the power play as Ondrej Roman is called for a trip in his own zone.
