		It's time for the national anthems at the EASTON Arena. In goal for Slovakia is Maximillian Pajpach, who plays for Poprad in the Slovak Junior Extraliga. His opposite number is Sergei Korobov, from the SKA St. Petersburg junior system.

	01:00	Delayed penalty coming for Slovakia.
	01:06	Penalty against Slovakia. Matej Palocko, two minutes for holding.
	06:10	Hard shot by Ivan Nikolishin as he bursts into the Slovakia zone with speed, but Pajpach makes the save.
	06:41	Korobov beats Dominik Novak to the loose puck and freezes it.
	07:52	Penalty shot for Russia!
	07:52	Kirill Pilipenko is hauled down on the breakaway, and gets the penalty shot. He head fakes and moves to the back hand but Pajpach manages to get his glove to the shot.
	09:34	Another save for Pajpach as the Russians are all over the Slovak side in the opening exchanges.
	11:01	Adam Hascic sends Eduard Nasybullin to the ice as he gains the zone
	11:39	Russia go offside on the right wing.
	11:47	Korobov easily deals with a bouncing puck sent in from the neutral zone, knocking it away with his pad.
	13:10	Good spell of zone time for Slovakia. Marco Halama does well bringing the puck into the zone, but Slovakia are unable to get any pucks on net and the Russians clear the danger.
	14:18	Juraj Mily fires a shot from the left wing circle which goes high and wide.
	14:40	At the other end a great chance for the Russians but Yevgeni Nazarkin fans on the one timer in the slot.
	16:28	Pajpach does well to get his glove on the puck under a mass of bodies in his crease.
	17:30	Slovakia are able to work the puck back to the point after dumping it in, but Samuel Ivanic's wrist shot fails to trouble Korobov.
	19:00	Final minute of the first period. Russia go close late on, with Yevgeni Svechnikov's wrap around attempt trickling across the crease. Slovakia are forced to ice the puck.
	19:35	Vladislav Kodola has a shot attempt which just misses the top right corner.
	20:00	1st period finished.
	20:00	Just as the first period expires, Russia's Eduard Nasybullin is handed a two minute penalty for holding.
		Another competitive first period here at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup. Russia looked the better of the two teams and had the best of the chances, including a penalty shot seven minutes in. However, Pajpach denied Pilipenko.
		The teams are out for the start of the second period.
		Slovakia start the second period with a two minute powerplay as a result of Nasybullin's penalty at 20:00.

	20:36	First shot of the powerplay falls to Ladislav Romancik, whose slap shot falls right into Kodorov's bread basket.
	21:09	Goal for Team Slovakia! The home side takes the lead, and boy are they happy to do so! MARCO HALAMA is the man who lights the lamp, scoring from in close
	22:48	Russia go very close to equalising almost instantly. Artur Boltanov gets the first shot away which Pajpach stops with the glove but fails to catch. Russia get two more bites at the cherry before Pajpach manages to freeze the puck.
	23:08	A neutral zone turnover gives Russia another chance. Ilya Zinoviev sends a drop pass to Ivan Nikolishin but Pajpach makes the first save.
	23:31	On the same shift, Pajpach is forced to make another great save, sprawling across his crease to deny an Ivan Nikolishin one timer with his left pad.
	24:01	Slovakia end up taking a penalty as a result of the sustained Russian pressure.
	24:49	Pajpach is forced to make another save, this time denying Radel Fazleyev.
	25:17	Goal for Team Russia! It was coming, as Russia's pressure eventually yields a dividend. Maximillian Pajpach was able to make the first stop, but the rebound at the back door was put away by MAXIM LAZAREV.
	26:00	A calamitous giveaway in their own zone gives Simon Petras a breakaway opportunity, but Korobov makes a fine pad stop.
	28:12	Russia are easily able to kill an Ivan Nikolishin penalty.
	29:56	Another golden chance for Russia, as Ivan Nikolishin has the puck on his stick in the slot, but a last gasp block by Ladislav Romancik saves the day.
	31:45	It's a wild one in Piestany at the moment. Chances in abundance at both ends. Great forechecking by Matej Palocko creates a chance for Slovakia, but Halama is unable to beat Korobov for his second goal of the game.
	31:57	Russia go offside.
	33:53	Great solo effort b Daniil Vovchenko, cutting through two Slovak defencemen, however, he is unable to get any real power to the shot and Pajpach makes the save.
	35:59	It's all one way traffic towards Maximillian Pajpach at the moment. The Slovak shot stopper is forced into action once more, this time showing quick reactions to poke the puck off of Artur Lauta's stick as the Russian forward was in alone on goal.
	36:47	Dominik Novak has a rare chance for Slovakia, cutting in off the right wing after a turnover in the neutral zone, but his shot goes wide.
	37:12	Another save for Pajpach, gloving the puck from a left wing shot.
	38:20	Goal for Team Russia! He was denied on an earlier penalty shot attempt, but this time KIRILL PILIPENKO makes no mistake, receiving the stretch pass, walking in alone on Pajpach going backhand to forehand and putting the puck into the top left corner
	40:00	2nd period finished.
		And so the second period comes to a close. Slovakia took the lead in the second minute of the middle frame through Marco Halama, but Russia rallied back, dominating puck possession and eventually taking the lead. Maxim Lazarev equalised, before Kirill Pilipenko's 39th minute go-ahead goal gave the Russians a well deserved lead.

	42:31	Penalty to Russia. Kirill Pilipenko gets a two minute penalty for hooking.
	42:46	The first chance on the powerplay comes at the wrong end for Slovakia. Pajpach had to make the save on a Vladislav Kamenev backhand effort.
	43:19	Filip Kundrat takes it upon himself to generate a scoring chance, skating all the way through the neutral zone, cutting right and firing a shot which Korobov gloves.
	43:57	A two on one chance for Slovakia develops. Patrik Kratochvila opts to go alone though and Korobov makes the save.
	44:20	A two on one odd man rush at the other end but the puck sails over the top of Pajpach's goal.
	45:18	Blocker save by Korobov on Christian Jaros' wrist shot from the point.
	47:02	A hard blast by Dominik Novak as he gains the blue line is deflected over the glass by the blocker of Sergei Korobov.
	47:02	Pushing and shoving after the whistle. No penalties forthcoming.
	47:22	A hard knee on knee hit by Adrian Holesinsky sends Eduard Nasybullin crashing to the ice and he's slow to get up. Holesinsky is sent straight to the locker room, while Nasybullin is helped off the ice by his teammates.
		Confirmation of Holesinsky's penalty as 5+game for kneeing.
	48:35	Kirill Pilipenko is down on the ice and is not moving at all after being hit in open ice in the Slovak zone. He is able to get off the ice under his own steam but is looking worse for wear.
	49:00	Save by Pajpach on a point shot by Damir Sharipzyanov. Slovakia then clear the puck from their own zone.
	51:02	Slovakia clear to neutral ice with a minute left on the five minute Russia powerplay.
	51:43	The play looked to be opening up for Russia, but just as the shot is fired from the left wing circle, Maxim Lazarev is called for being in the crease.
	52:04	Huge hit by Adam Hascic in front of the Slovak bench.
	52:16	Penalty against Russia. Maxim Ryzhkov is given a two minute interference penalty for retaliating against Dominik Novak.
	52:22	Slovakia back to full strength.
	53:12	Great powerplay movement by the Slovaks. The puck is worked behind the goal and then Ladislav Romancik is given the puck skating in the puck, but a great pad stop by Korobov denies the Slovak defenceman.
	54:16	The puck sails out of play after Ryzhkov's penalty expires.
	54:26	Slovakia win the draw and Patrik Koch has a shot from the point, which is saved by Korobov without a rebound.
	55:51	It's getting gritty now. A fair few glove punches thrown between players after Pajpach gloves the puck in a scramble.
	57:25	Novak shoots high and wide when presented with a great chance for a Slovak equaliser.
	58:00	Final two minutes in the third period.
	58:08	That might just be all she wrote. Filip Adamcik takes a two minute hooking penalty with 1:52 left to go in the third period.
	58:35	Pajpach makes yet another save, this time stopping a Lauta wrist shot from the left wing circle.
	59:33	Slovakia are unable to get the puck out of their zone at all. Nasybullin fires a rocket of a one timer from the point but is denied.
	60:00	Game over.
		The final buzzer goes and after Day 1 of the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup it is Russia who sit top of Group B. Kirill Pilipenko's 39th minute goal is the difference, as Slovakia, led by a stunning performance in goal by Maximillian Pajpach impress but eventually fall short.
