For neutral observers, the game was thrilling and utterly interesting. You couldn't ask for a better start to your day than a match like this. For both fans the game was traumatic and probably shortened their lives a bit. Amur winning two points, Medvescak one. Great game, great hockey! Thank you for waking up with us and the KHL, we have plenty more today. Until next time, goodbye! (09:44:12)

This is it folks! A great hockey game to start the day, a win after the shootout for Amur. Medvescak couldn't finish the trip to the Far East perfect but still they got 10 points out of it. That late powerplay for Amur really was the game-changer, it lifted them up a bit and gave them strength to take it to the end.

    Game over.

Amur Khabarovsk has won after the penalty shoot-out.

TIMOFEI SHISHKANOV wins it for Amur being the lone scorer and gets them the second point.

Michael Ryan takes it on the right, but gets back to the slot quickly, though Jarvinen is up to the task and wins the game. (1-0)

Timofei Shishkanov takes it straight, and beats Dekanich on the spot getting the edge to Amur. (1-0)

Hugh Jessiman drives the puck straight through the middle, takes a shot from outside the crease and Jarvinen saves. (0-0)

Jakub Petruzalek goes on Dekanich slightly to the left, and into the slot, but Dekanich covers the five-hole. (0-0)

Charles Linglet uses the same method, and Jarvinen saves the net as well. (0-0)

Alexander Yunkov goes first for Amur, drives straight to the net, but Dekanich keeps his head cool and makes the save.

    Start of shootout.

Dekanich is already in net despite the Zamboni still being on the ice, and most probably Mika Jarvinen will remain between the pipes for the shootout.

Good overtime by both, neither managing to score but with some great opportunity on both sides as this game was completely open, now it all comes down to this.

After keeping the puck within their zone, Amur get on the offense, Petruzalek striking a hard slapper from the middle at the blueline, Dekanich somehow deflects it to the left so the defense can pick it up.
