CSKA have claimed the derby spoils with a narrow 2-1 victory against their arch rivals Spartak! They dominated for long spells but the wastefulness in front of goal made for a rather uncomfortable game for the hosts. They took the lead in the second period through a shorthanded Ivan Neprayev goal, but Spartak responded before the period was out after Tom Wandell found the net. CSKA weren't to be denied though and midway through the final period Ilari Filppula grabbed the winner. Thanks for following the game with us today, and see you soon for more thrilling KHL action! 60:00
    Game over.

    59:51
    Empty net now for Spartak!

    59:36
Spartak are now also back to full strength but they haven't got much time at all to find that elusive equaliser with just 24 seconds remaining

    59:06
The puck gets squeezed up against Shesterkin's left hand post and he gets a glove on it to freeze

    58:16
Lisin is back on the ice for the hosts with just under two minutes remaining

    57:36
It's already a four on four game though, Denis Bodrov for holding has been sent to the penalty box for Spartak

    56:16
CSKA might be made to pay for that missed chance now as Lisin for high sticking has put them on the penalty kill

    55:31
Filppula! Wow, just how didn't he score! He's set up on the slot with an half empty net to aim it, but he hits the post for one of the misses of the season!

    54:38
Spartak work a good opening for themselves but Wandell when in a very promising position misses the net! Both teams are going for it with the score currently at 2-1 in CSKA's favour

    53:34
Frolov skates hard to the net but Shesterkin grabs hold on to his wrister. And then almost straight after that Frolov again can't just force the puck over the line in a mini scramble at the right post!

    52:28
Glass at his right hand post fields a Toluzakov effort from the boards solidly

    51:57
Morozov works the puck well behind Shesterkin's net, he finds Saprykin who is denied by a Spartak defender's skate right on the line!

    51:30
Spartak get set up well in the attack, but the eventual shot from the blue line doesn't find the target

    49:45
Medvedev! What a chance for Spartak to respond instantly! Pavel Medvedev suddenly finds himself one on one with the goalkeeper, goes high glove side but Glass makes a wonderful save!

    48:39
Goal for CSKA! Oleg Saprykin wins the puck behind the Spartak net, finds ILARI FILPPULA who first times the puck into Shesterkin and the puck crawls under the goalkeeper, he'll want that one back but it's 2-1! Assists- Oleg Saprykin

    47:33
Spartak are just trying to take the sting out of the game with some solid puck possession

    45:51
Toluzakov! It's a fantastic rush to the net from him, he squeezes through three CSKA defenders but only to fire into Glass's chest!

    45:10
Misharin on the doorstep can't control the puck as it comes out of the air

    44:30
Shesterkin comfortably pads away a low wrist shot form the right flank around into the boards

    Shaun Nicolaides
