Heading into the game, the Slovakian players already know they'll be playing in Division 1 Group B next year, as they have 0 points heading into their last game, and no other team has fewer than 4. Therefore, they can't avoid relegation. Against Slovakia, Austria still has a chance to win a medal, and they are very close to it.
