Medvescak – Novosibirsk 2:0 (end)
final
Medvescak Zagreb
2:0 (0:0, 1:0, 1:0)
HC Sibir Novosibirsk
Tuesday 28.10.2014, 19:30 • Dom Sportova • KHL

There is indeed the final buzzer, and Medvescak Zagreb have eased to a simple 2:0 triumph against Sibir Novosibirsk! They were in complete control after drawing first blood, and Sibir lacked ideas going forward. Edwin Hedberg and James Wright got on the scoreboard, with Barry Brust earning a shutout for himself. Thanks for following the game with us, and see you again soon for more exciting KHL action! (21:47:39)

    60:00
    Game over.

    59:51
Sibir really have looked off colour today, and Medvescak are heading to a rather comfortable victory on home ice!

    59:34
    Goal for Medvescak Zagreb!
That certainly is game over now! Medvescak keep the puck expertly inside Sibir's zone, and Mathieu Carle's slapper from distance is flicked in by JAMES WRIGHT! Powerplay goal and it's 2:0! Assists- Mathieu Carle and Andrew Hutchinson

    57:52
Sibir just cannot get set up in Medvescak's zone and they've been hit with a really silly penalty, as for having too many men on the ice they have made their task almost impossible! A thoroughly deflated Alexander Kopeikin will spend these two minutes in the box

    55:42
Enlund! Jonas Enlund swings around behind the net to the right hand post, attempts to stuff his wraparound over the line but Barry Brust's left pad gets in the way! The visitors need to take advantage of such opportunities!

    54:18
Five players are on the ice for both again as Mikko Koskinen is stripped of the puck behind his net by Edwin Hedberg, and he's very lucky to get away with that! Sibir are lax in defence quite often today!

    52:18
Rather strangely just seconds later though once again the penalty box is open for both teams, as Medvescak's Martin St. Pierre of and Viktor Bobrov of the visitors have been penalised for fighting against each other

    51:00
Pelletier! Pascal Pelletier has too much pace for the visiting defence, drifting to the left he has Edwin Hedberg waiting but the feed is cut out at source! And both sides are back at full strength

    50:21
Shawn Morrisonn bullies his way to the left of the slot, slides it across the danger zone but no one can catch up with it!

    48:41
And the referees have blown for another penalty and it's going to be a four on four hockey game here, as Martin St. Pierre of Medvescak and Sibir's Igor Ozhiganov have been punished for roughing against each other

    48:28
Icing is committed by Sibir. It has been a rather strange affair so far with the tempo not being particularly high, and both teams looking slightly lethargic

    47:04
Kinrade! All alone on the left faceoff circle Geoffrey Kinrade chucks in a rising wrist shot, and at the second attempt Mikko Koskinen gets enough on it to push it wide into the boards!

    47:01
Edwin Hedberg, with already one goal to his name on his Medvescak debut, sprints down the left wing, whips it across goal but the goalkeeper flashes leather well

    43:37
Just as Jonas Enlund burst in past the Medevscak blue line the referees blow for offside to the relief of the home faithful

    44:45
Both sides have five players back on the ice again with Sibir struggling to get any offence going, it's been a while since they created an opening!

    44:23
The hosts keep the puck deep inside their opponents' zone, clever build up play sets up Geoffrey Kinrade lurking on the right faceoff circle, but he wrists into Mikko Koskinen's stomach when well positioned

    42:55
Just as Matt Anderson thumped into Mikko Koskinen's grasp when almost squeezing his way through on the right a fight begins to break out! With Sibir players very unhappy about the goalkeeper being slashed it's the visitors who have been punished, as for roughing Igor Ozhiganov has been sent to the penalty box

    41:11
And immediately they have been given a very promising chance to get back on level terms, as Medvescak's Nathan Perkovich has been penalised for tripping

    40:08
The third and deciding period is underway! Sibir will be hopeful of a comeback with the difference only one goal!
