Mannheim's head coach Sean Simpson was disappointed in the team's loss against Tappara but gave credit to the Tampere-based team.

    - We are of course disappointed that we lost. Tappara played a good and disciplined game. They had a better first period than we did tonight and they deserved to win.

The game was a neck-to-neck battle throughout the game and special teams along with physical playing were the big issues. Simpson gave credit to Mannheim's penalty killing and physicality even though power play wasn't as excellent.

    - I think that our penalty killing was very good. It was a hard-fought game, like a play-off game. In the physical game we had no difficulties.

Mannheim's this year's CHL ended in group stage. Simpson liked the whole experience very much and eagerly awaits for a new shot in the tournament.

    - CHL is a good tournament. I am a believer in CHL and I'm positive about it. I think that it's a good thing that club teams play against each other all over Europe. It's a good variable and a good advertisement to club ice hockey. I'll very happily come back next year if possible. (22:16:29)

Tappara's head coach Jussi Tapola was satisfied about Mannheim-game's result. It meant that Tappara will advance to the play-offs.

    - Of course we keep CHL in high value. We had a tough group, both Lugano and Mannheim are surely top teams of their own leagues. Getting to the play-offs especially from this group was a good performance.

Mannheim gave a tough battle to Tappara and both teams had their opportunities in the game. Tapola gave credit to the German team.

    - When you look at Mannheim's style of play, coaching and everything, you can see that they are a really high-quality team to play against.

Tapola also agreed with the media that the game varied quite much.

    - We responded to their combat playing well. We were clearly better in the first period. The second period was messed up a little by the penalties. Third period was mainly good but our own attacking was sometimes such that it created chances to the opponent.

Power play was one of the most positive points of the game.

    - Most of our players played an excellent game today. Our power play was quite good today. We had good foundations there but lacked results. The penalties were partly justifiable and some were interpretations but that is what this is going to be.

CHL's play-off draw will be held in Helsinki next monday. Tapola told that he is mainly thinking about the travel issues, not that much about the opponent.

    - Travelling is of course an issue now that the Liiga-season approaches. Hopefully we get an opponent which resides within an easy travel. We as a team hope for a good and tough opponent.
