Riga managed to open the game with three early goals, to whom CSKA responded with a goal by Georgy Misharin. Later in the period CSKA started to attack Tellqvist's net on a way more regular basis, and in the last minute started to build pressure, but failed to score the second goal. SOG: 8 – 14 PIM: 2 – 0

		With just 14 seconds played, CSKA managed to do what they couldn't late in the first period – score the second goal. During the second period both teams spent way more time in the neutral zone, and didn't succeed to create as many scoring chances as previously.
