It wasn't particulary nice game. Full of fighting spirit – yes; but no great hockey. Both teams were precautious too much. Dinamo was supported by magnificent crowd inside Arena Riga and that probably gave them extra boost in crucial moments. Avangard was surprisingly active, good in during some time-periods, but very innefective. Bottom line – deserved win for Latvian side, but it could have easily gone the other way too.

Avangard is not all that good in this season. They are 12th in Eastern Conference standings. That's far from play-off positions. However they didn't give up to grab playoff spot, but they need persistance in their results. They have played some good games in october, but failed to impress on others. Their last game was a defeat against CSKA in Moscow. Can they surprise Dinamo in Riga today?
