    Final word -
    Barys were probably considered as slight favorites to the game. not that English speaking Croatia side agreed with that. They presented a great deal of audacity in opening minutes already. Astana players got themselves together after and took control of the game. They couldn't score as Barry brust was iin great day-form to keep Medvescaks net empty. Moment of lose-focus by Ari Ahonen gave guests the lead and home team never gained needed confidence after. they did tie the game, but allowed guests to take another lead with wide gap in defense and that did it. Medvescak took advantage of empty net in final minute and deservedly got the points at Kazakstan Sport Palace.

Two non-Russian teams meet in Kazakhstan with slightly different starting positions. namely, Barys is in hunt for Nr1 spot on Eastern Conference standings and each game counts almost double for them. Medvescak on the other hand continues to surprise with good performances. They are currently at 7th place on Western Conference standings not far from 6th CSKA and 5th Donbass, but are not safe for playoff spot yet neither. Team from Yaroslavl is trailing four points only on 8th place. So far place nine Atlant is on safe distance, but guests from Croatia sure don't want to get into losing streak. Medvescak's last game was SO loss against Avangard on the road. Prior to that they beat Spartak on another road game. Barys also won against Spartak two days ago in Astana and beat Ak Bars on the road prior to that – that indicates they are in good form and some tough job is in front of Medvescak's players if they are about to get a good result in Astana today.
