Welcome. This semifinal game starts at 17:30 CET, 11:30 ET, 08:30 PT.

Scott Wheerel: The US is the only country in the tournament that consistently doesn't send its best draft-eligible talent to Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup.

Canada won all three games in the group stage over Switzerland, Sweden and Slovakia by identical 5-1 scores. They feature a balance attack, as no player has more than 4 points -- Mathiew Barzal and Tyler Soy each have 1 goal and 3 assist. Zach Sawchenko played in the first two games and Callum Booth in the third.

The USA lost its first game 4-2 to the Czech Republic but then beat Russia 7-4 and Finland 9-4, so they feature some offensive firepower. Thomas Novak leads all scorers in the tournament with 7 points (2+5), while Brock Boeser and Dennis Yan both have 6. Evan Sarthou played all three games in goal.

Canada now advances to the final again, and they'll play the winner of the Czech Republic-Sweden. If the Czechs win, the game will be in Breclav at 17:00 CET, if it's the Swedes, the game will be here in Piestany at 13:00 CET. The US will play the loser of that game for the bronze in the opposite location and time. Right now it's 1-0 Czechs in the 2nd.
