    51:17

Marco Pewal draws a 2 minute penalty for Slashing in the same sequence. 5 on 3 for Frölunda is coming up.

    51:17
Brock McBride looses it all, what a unlucky move! He gets a hit by Cramo Top Scorer Mathis Olimb and gets his revenge by hitting several times on his head. Geez, he should not solve situations this way...

    49:43
Frlöunda creates a great 2-on-1 chance when Anton Blidh and Pontus Widerström winds up, but the shot by Widerström can't beat Lamoureux.

    40:01
    Start of 3rd period.

Both teams are back on the ice and we're just a few seconds from the third period.

The game will start again at 16:13 CET.

Frölunda is the better team, but they seem sloppy sometimes in a while and it's also at those times Villach manage to create some chances. Villach is playing pretty solid in the own zone, but having a bit problem to stop Frölunda in the neutral zone. Frölunda wins a lot of turnovers in the neutral zone and with a little more speed they could get a few more breakaways.

    Goals in the second period:

2-1 (20:40) | Max Görtz (Mathis Olimb, Christoffer Ehn)
3-1 (29:43) | Artturi Lehkonen (Max Görtz, Mathis Olimb) PP1

Villach d-man Stefan Bacher winds up the puck along the boards and tries a slap shot inside the blue line, but Lars Johansson ain't having any problems saving it.

    39:00
One minute left of the 2nd period.

    38:07
The puck hits the post in a Frölunda attack, and the fireworks goes off – but the puck never crosses the goal line.

    38:01
It's a long sequence without a whistle right now. Frölunda carries the puck, tries to get into the end zone and every time Villach takes control of the puck they have to throw it away just to see Frölunda try a new attack again.

    35:01
Frölunda forward Anton Axelsson makes a great deke to get through a Villach defender, but the pass into the slot can't reach Lasu or Widerström.

    32:49
Villach goal scorer today, Francois Fortier, can't beat Lars Johansson with the deke and backhand shot which goes wide. still 3-1 Frölunda.

Mathis Olimb plays a broken stick and Villach gets a penalty shot.

And we have a new Cramo Top Scorer of Champions Hockey League, ladies and gentlemen. Mathis Olimb with three assists today (so far) and totally 12 points.

    29:43
    Power Play Goal for Frölunda!
Mathis Olimb plays Max Görtz in the slot who gives the puck to ARTTURI LEHKONEN on the left side of goalie who can put the puck in the net. Assisted by: Max Görtz and Mathis Olimb. 3:1.

    28:47
Great puck handling by Frölundas Mattias Janmark results in a 2 minutes Holding penalty on Villach's Gerhard Unterluggauer.

    27:35
A great Frölunda attack ends with a good, solid glove save by goalie Jean-Philippe Lamoureux.

    26:29
But just seconds later they create a great 3-on-1-opportunity, but Mark Santorelli can't beat Lars Johansson with the wrister.

    26:24
Home team at full strength. Villach couldn't effort create anything particulary.

    24:24
Frölunda draws their first penalty of the game. It's a team penalty for Too Many Players On Ice. 2 minutes powerplay for Villach ahead.

Mathis Olimb has now 11 points, which is just as many as Cramo Top Scorer of CHL Andreas Johnson beholds. He has about 47 minutes in this game to add one point and take the first place.

    20:40
    Goal for Frölunda!
MAX GÖRTZ picks up a loose puck in front of the net and puts it in the net. Assisted by: Mathis Olimb and Christoffer Ehn. 2:1.

    20:01
    Start of 2nd period.

The 2nd period will start around 15:23 CET. I will be back by then.

Mathis Olimb is now just one point behind Cramo Top Scorer Andreas Johnson. Johnson isn't playing today due to a fever, as I mentioned earlier, which means Olimb plays with the CTS jersey today. Who knows, maybe he'll keep it after today.

Erik Gustafsson, D, scored his third goal this torunament and is now registrered for 7 points, which is the best among defensemen.

The period is over and it wasn't a really good one. Frölunda took most of the initiative after a couple of minutes and showed off some really good passing plays in the attacks, but we didn't get to see that many great chances. Villach brought their gameplay back up and leveled off the game even though Frölunda was the better team overall. Frölunda seemed a bit comfortable after the lead goal and Villach took advantage of it and scored on a rebound.

First period is over and it's tied by one. Goals:

1-0 (17.54) | Erik Gustafsson (Mathis Olimb, Elias Fälth) PP1
1-1 (18:34) | Francois Fortier (Cole Jarrett, Mark Santorelli)

    Shots: 14-9
    Penalty minutes: 0-2

    20:00
    1st period finished.

    18:34

    16:25
First penalty of the game. Villach player Francois Fortier goes to the box, 2 minutes for Hooking.

    16:13
Erik Gustafsson with another shot. He's on fire today, but Lamoureux saves the wrister with his right pad.

    14:39
Villach d-men having a bit trouble in their own zone right now. Gerhard Unterluggauer have given away the puck twice in the d-zone in a short time, resulting in a long Frölunda attack with a couple of good chances – especially when Erik Karlsson took away the pass, dropped it to Christoffer Ehn who passed Erik Gustafsson who tried the slapper.

    11:36
It's a bit difficult for Villach to reorganize from the deep defence to the offence, resulting in a pretty harmless one man attack once in a while. Frölunda possesses the most time with the puck, but Villach have managed to step it up a bit.

    08:58
Villach player Francois Fortier carries the puck through the open ice, into the end zone and trying a great wrister, but Lars Johansson can make an easy save with the pad.

    07:57
Great passing play between Max Görtz and Cramo Top Scorer Mathis Olimb in the offensive zone. Görtz with the shot, but another save by Lamoureux.

In the shot moment Görtz got a pretty bad slash on the wrist, but no call was made.

    07:10
Frölunda started to step up the play a bit and just had a great attack in the end zone. Villach looks solid in the d-zone though – not giving up their boxes.

    05:04
Kevin Elgestål (first game for him in the tournament) makes a good play into Mattias Janmark in front of the net, but Janmark's shot can't beat Lamoureux.

    03:52
Joel Lundqvist in Frölunda brings the puck in the end zone, makes a drop pass to d-man Erik Gustafsson who shoots a slap shot but Lamoureux makes a save.

    03:17
It's not a very good start of this game. No one can't really take the opportunity to advantage in the prelude of the game.

    02:24
Great shot from d-man Elias Fälth, but Villach goalie Lamoureux makes a solid save.

    01:24
First whistle of the game comes when Villach dumps the puck to the net whereby Lars Johansson tips it up over the boards. Faceoff on the left side of Johansson.

    00:01
    Game started.

We're getting ready for the faceoff in Scandinavium.

Both teams are standing on each blue line, but there's one thing missing – the referees...

Villach is now on ice as well.

Frölunda enter the ice to the intro song made by Lillasyster.

Intro is under way, the players will soon enter the ice.

We have about 15 minutes left until first faceoff. Frölunda should be able to win this game with no bigger doubts.

Cramo Top Scorer of Frölunda, Andreas Johnson (3 goals, 8 assists), won't play tonight due to a fever. Could that possibly result in a new Top Scorer for Frölunda after this game?
Mathis Olimb is just two points behind Andreas with his 9 points (2+7).

Good morning Gothenburg! (wishes Swedish TV reporter)

Villach SV beat Briançon away with 2-1 in the first game but couldn't keep up to Genève's level in Game 2 and got defeated with 4-2. Three days ago (thursday) they beat Briançon for the second time, with 4-1 and climbed up to 2nd place and past Genève in the standings thanks to Frölunda's victory.

Cramo Top Scorer of Villach SV is John Lammers with his 3 goals. He has scored all three goals against Briançon and it will be interesting if he could manage to find the net against any other team.

Frölunda lost first game on the road against Genève-Servette with 4-3, but bounced back and beat Briançon with 7-1.
Last thursday they defeated Genève in the rematch at home, with 7-3 in a game with a lot of faces.

Cramo Top Scorer of Frölunda is Andreas Johnson who is also the Cramo Top Scorer of Champions Hockey League. Johnson beholds 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists).

    1. Genève-Servette | 4 | 3-0-0-1 | +4 (18-14) | 9 points
