In their first CHL home game of the season, Frolunda Gothenburg host Dynamo Pardubice in an important game in Group A.

“I consider it one of the more important games of the season,” said Pardubice forward Petr Hudacek. “I haven't slept for three days. This is a high-quality team we're playing against again, and so we have to be ready. We have in mind that we expect a tough game after an arduous journey.”

Last Saturday, Hubacek had an assist in Pardubice's 3-2 shootout victory at home. However, Frolunda out-shot Pardubice 32-16 in the game, and Hubacek is under no illusions about how good the defending European champions are.

“The first game proved it – they're a level above us, and that's just the way it is. But that only underscores what a good job we did. It's not easy to play a team of that calibre in your first really meaningful game. We know that the Swedish team has the talent on their side, but that only motivates us more to do the best that we can.”

From what happened in the first game, Frolunda assistant coach Par Johansson knows what his team needs to to prevent a repeat of last Saturday: stay out of the penalty box and dictate the pace of the game. “Pardubice's power play is sharp and we can't fall into their tempo,” he said. “They don't like when it gets going fast, but they're skilled and dangerous if they get to play on their own terms.”

Nothing much to report during the first three minutes of the game. The puck goes back and fourth on the ice without any specific scoring chance or so.

Frölunda has really taken command of the game, but Pardubice can kill the penalty and are back on full strength.

Pardubice are getting pushed back really heavy right now, but thanks to Jan Scotka they manages to get a faceoff in offensive zone.

Artturi Lehkonen for Frölunda gets a breakaway, but Martin Ruzicka in the net for Pardubice stands in the way and gets credited for a save.

Pardubice has commanded the beginning of the 2nd period outshooting Frölunda 4-0.
Frölunda creates a rebound and Simon Hjalmarsson are just inches away from extending the lead, but Ruzicka are strong and keeps the puck on the right side of the goal line with his trapper.

Matt Donovan, the d-man of Frölunda, makes a great individual effort when he skates through Pardubice and creates a great chance. Ruzicka, however, can save the shot with his stick.

Joel Lundqvist are back on the ice and Frölunda plays with four players.

Frölunda's netminder Johan Gustafsson tries to clear the puck but shoots right on Pardubice's Tomas Klimenta who tries to shoot the puck on a – for a moment – empty net. Frölunda's d-man Matt Donovan comes to rescue with a cruisial shot block.

The start of the 3rd period looks more like the 1st period where Frölunda have a lot of puck possession in the offensive zone so far. Pardubice are having troubles establishing any momentum.

Pardubice's Tomas Rolinek gets a breakaway and tries to beat Johan Gustafsson high, but Gustafsson makes a great save with his left shoulder and the puck gets blocked. What a huge save!

More than half of the 5 minutes penalty are gone and Pardubice can't seem to create an.y pressure. Frölunda are succesful clearing the puck out of the zone.

It takes about 4 minutes of powerplay before Pardubice can create their first good attack, and Petr Sykora are close scoring one on a one-timer from the blue line, but Johan Gustafsson stops the puck with a beautiful glove save.

Frölunda kills the 5 minutes penalty and are still in a 2-goal-lead.
