    In 2014-15 there were five and in 2015-16 four series which needed overtime to settle the series. From the nine, three have been settled in overtime, six needed shootout.
     
    Last year, TPS was involved in the only double draw in the Champions Hockey League history so far. In the quarter-finals against fellow Finnish team Lukko. After 3:3 in Turku and 1:1 in Rauma, Lukko won the series in shootout.
     
    In the second period both teams had strong phases. HIFK had big mistakes early which led to TPS goals. At least 20 minutes to go. With teams closely matched, the overtime is possible.

    Early phase of the game was strong by the visitors, but HIFK improved steadily during the period. Two goals gave them advantage for now, but the game and series is far from over.

    IFK and TPS played out a low-scoring match last week, and re another pair of teams going into the return leg with the result entirely dependant on tonight's scoreline.

    IFK Helsinki team manager Ari Halttunen looked ahead at their Liiga opposition, saying, "TPS is a team that takes time and space away from the opponent. We have to be ready for that and move your legs and the puck. And be ready to battle right from the start. Special teams will play a big role in the game."
