Germany was competitive for most of the 1st period, but Finland dominated the 2nd period, took the game firmly in their control, and then were on cruise-control in the 3rd.
From in front of the net, HENRIK HAAPALA scores his 2nd goal of the game on a rebound. Assists: Rasmus Kulmala, Esa Lindell.
Quickly in the 3rd period, Cupper stopped his first shot, but TUEVO TERAVAINEN grabbed the rebound and went upstairs for Finalnd's 7th goal. Assist: Artturi Lehkonen.
The 2nd period was all Finland, and they appear to have a semifinal date securely in their grasp.
Germany simply cannot contain all of Finland's offensive weapons. Just as the penalty was expiring, Terevainen fed ARTTURI LEHKONEN, who redirected the puck upstairs. Assists: Tuevo Teravainen, Ville Pokka.
After Klein stopped the initial point shot from Ristolainen, SAMU MARKKULA scored on the rebound with a backhander from a sharp angle. Assist: Risto Ristolainen.
The Finnish power play worked the puck around nicely, setting up a one-time snapper from HENRIK HAAPALA that beat Klein high to the stick side. Assists: Rasmus Kulmala, Esa Lindell.
Klein appeared to stop HENRI IKONEN's shot from point-blank, but it slowly crept through his pads and slid across the line. Assist: Mikko Vainonen.
Finland came out strong and quickly got the game's first goal. Germany started getting some chances of their own, but a defensive lapse led to Finland's second goal, which killed their momentum.
A German defensive lapse allowed TUEVO TERAVAINEN, Finland's most dangerous player, to get free. He took a pass in the slot and beat Klein with another forehand deke. Assists: Juuso Ikonen, Arturri Lehkonen.
ALEXI MUSTONEN took a breakaway pass and beat Klein with a forehand deke. The Finnish 2nd line is picking up where it left off the last game. Assist: Henrik Haapala.
