    There were some nasty scenes in the game, as Radek Dlouhy left the game on a stretcher after taking a hit to the head by Lukas Derner as he crossed the blueline. Boris Valabik then stepped in and fought Derner, with the big Slovak defenceman landing all the punches.
     
    Liberec have upset the apple-cart here, as they pick up a hugely important three points against title contenders HC Kometa Brno. Their win is even more impressive after they were 2:0 down after the first period thanks to a pair of shorthanded goals, the first by Tomas Divisek, and the second by Jakub Svoboda. However, the White Tigers were the better team in the final two periods, as Wayne Simmonds scored in the 22nd minute on a rebound, before a wicked Michal Bulir wrist shot levelled the scores. It was a tight third period, but Wayne Simmonds' tip on a Ladislav Smid point shot turned out to be the difference maker, and Kometa leave empty handed.
