Atlético Madrid is the surprise team of the season in Primera División with a 10-1-1 record after 12 games, that places them only three points behind league leaders FC Barcelona. Their only loss happend in their visit to Valencia (0-2) three weeks ago. The team is also already in the next round of the Europa League and with one and a half feet in the next round of the Copa del Rey. For sure Falcao is their most dangerous player - with 10 goals in the league he places himself just behind Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. But in general the team is the star. They have scored the third most goals and they have had the third less goals against of all teams in La Liga. Atlético can't count with Mario Suárez who is suspended.

FC Sevilla was placed in the midfield of the Primera División before this game but with a win tonight they could make the jump to the sixth spot and thus to the international spots. In recent weeks the team was struggling with only one win in five matches before they have won the derby against Real Betis with 5-1 last week. It will be interesting to see if they can use the confidence of the derby win or if they continue as in the weeks before. Neither their top striker Negredo nor his first substitute Manu del Moral are able to play today because both are injured while Medel is suspended. That's why Sevilla hopes for its strong midfielders Reyes, Rakitic and Jesús Navas to absorb these losses.

In recent years almost always the home team had won these duels but the last three times we saw a draw between Atlético and Sevilla. Today though the favourites are the hosts from Madrid.
