Home side Donbass Donetsk had a difficult start into the season but by now they are real competitors for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. After 30 games the Ukrainian league newcomers collected 37 points and are just four points behind a playoff spot. The team is especially strong at home where it won the last 7 (!!!) matches, including a 3-2 win over SKA St. Petersburg earlier this week.
The guests Dynamo Moscow are in top form with 8 wins in the last 10 matches that let them be KHL leaders with 64 points in 30 games. Their last away game they have won 3-1 against Dinamo Riga.
In a few minutes we'll see if Donbass can extend its superb home record or if the super stars from Dynamo like Ovechkin or Bäckström will be still a number too big for them.
