The Liberec White Tigers are still trying to get to a better position in the league standings. Right now, they are thirteenth and there's only a score difference between them and Chomutov Pirates, the last team of the league standings. The Tigers were close to getting a win numerous times in December, but they failed to cash in full, losing points either in overtime or in shootout. Meanwhile, Pardubice are looking to recover losing three locked-out NHLers Aleš Hemský, David Krejčí and Jakub Kindl, who decided not to continue playing in the Extraliga after Christmas. However, they were able to beat Litvínov last week and it looks like the change might have helped them. Anyway, their team looks weak after a series of departures and injuries.
