Team USA will play either Sweden or Russia on Saturday, while Canada will play for the bronze against whoever loses that game. We'll be broadcasting the other semi-final game and both medal round games, so stay with us.
Shots on goal: CAN 16 (34), USA 16 (42)
Penalty minutes: CAN 16, USA 6 (12:27:33)
JOHN GAUDREAU received a pass by JT Miller and was on a breakaway alone with the goalie. Huge goal and this could be over.
Assists: JT Miller.
Very sloppy play by team USA, and Canada finnaly finds themselves on the board. It's being checked by the video referee. It's a goal, nothing strange there. TY RATTIE shot the puck, Gibson deflected but he picked up the rebound and put it in empty net. A shorthanded goal for Canada.
Without assistance.
Shots on goal 2nd period (game): CAN 10 (18), USA 14 (26)
Penalty minutes: CAN 6, USA 2
JIM VESEY got the puck in front of Ouellet, skates past him and beats Subban.
Assists: John Gaudreau, JT Miller.
Unbeliveable but true. After Canada dominates on the ice, the USA are on a breakaway, JOHN GAUDREAU the scorer who took the puck in the middle of the ice and just as he got into the Canadian zone, he scores to give his team a comfortable lead over fierce rivals.
Assists: Jake McCabe.
We'll be back for the second period after 15 minutres' intermission.
Another goal by JAKE MCCABE, completely deserved it. Team USA looks like the better team today. His team mates played the puck offensively, and McCabe was alone in the middle, safely puts it in.
Assists: Vince Trocheck, Rocco Grimaldi.
JAKE MCCABE finds the way into the net. Subban was covered by a wall of players of both teams and McCabe was all alone, to score.
Assists: Riley Barber, Mike Reilly.
Following his team's huge 7:0 win over Czech Republic, Alex Galchenyuk said his team can beat Canada today. We'll see what they have prepared for us.

Team USA came in 3rd in group B, right behind Canada and Russia. In the quarterfinals they played against team Czech Republic, smashing them 7-0. John Gaudreau probably played the best match for his national team, scoring no less than 4 goals. Their topscorer remains Jacob Trouba with 8 points (4+4).
These two teams also met in the group stage and team Canada won 2:1.
There is not more to be said, these two teams are fierce rivals, and that's a guarantee of a great matchup here.
