    Sevilla took over the initiative in the second half and with a triple chance they grabbed the lead late in the 83rd minute through their defender Spahic. This was just enough for them to get all three points and to improve their situation in the fight to avoid relegation. For Osasuna the late goal against means a huge setback on the other side.

    Sevilla FC are playing a disappointing season so far, being only 14th in the Primera División with 19 points in 17 games. Osasuna is positioned even lower as 19th with 14 points in 17 games but with their small budget the team couldn't expect much more.

    In recent months Sevilla lost much ground after being close to the international spots. In their last nine matches they gained only one win and a total of five points. Osasuna at least only lost two of their last seven matches but as they only won two of them they didn't move a lot in the table.

    In six of their last seven matches against Sevilla today's guests CA Osasuna not even scored a single goal and the last time they won in Sevilla was back in February 2006.

    Sevilla has Álvaro Negredo as topscorer with eight goals and Ivan Rakitic with five points (3+2). Málaga's stars are Joaquín with 8 points (4+4) along with Javier Saviola and Roque Santa Cruz with six points each (5+1).
