		An early goal in the third period through Oleg Saprykin brought tension back into this game but afterwards the hosts couldn't force another one while SKA missed the early decision. Because of the first 40 minutes the SKA win is a deserved one.

		The second period was far more entertaining than the previous one. After several good chances SKA doubled their lead but shorthanded Ufa came back. Still the rather shaky Vasilevsky left another two shots through for a 4-1 guest lead. Afterwards Tarkki took over the position in the Ufa net.

		In a rather not so eventful first period, SKA used one of only two really good chances to earn the lead in Ufa. Thoresen had deflected a blue line shot by Kalinin.

		Salavat Yulayev Ufa are 4th in Chernyshyov Division with 64 points in 40 games. Although they are only 7th in Eastern Conference they have a comfortable eight-point advantage towards the first non-playoff spot and this with two games less played than Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk, the team on the 9th position in the East. Today's guests SKA St. Petersburg are in a far better position, being first in the whole KHL with 89 points in 41 games. Last weeks have presented many very mixed results for Ufa. While they lost terribly 3-9 on the road against archrivals Ak Bars Kazan, they came back with a 1-0 win at home against current Gagarin Cup holders Dynamo Moscow. On the other side SKA had a four-game winning streak, including three games with a shutout, before they lost away against Ak Bars Kazan (1-3). Ufa's topscorer is by far Igor Mirnov (30 pts), followed by the trio Nikita Filatov, Denis Khlystov and Vitali Proshkin (all 19 pts). St. Petersburg can count with several players at a high scoring level. These are Ilya Kovalchuk (41 pts), Patrick Thoresen (35 pts), Vladimir Tarasenko (31 pts), Tony Mårtensson and Kevin Dallman (both 30 pts). If SKA gets another favourite win or if Ufa can surprise them, we'll see very soon.
