Thanks for joining us tonight and enjoy the rest of the evening! (19:15:48)
A beautiful goal thanks to the patience of Leos Cermak who skated from the corner, behind and around the net upwards towards the slot and then feeding a cross-ice pass to JAN HRUSKA who one-times it from the right faceoff circle past Rehor! Assists: Leos Cermak, Hynek Zohorna
A beautiful play by Kometa leads to a 3on1 as Jan Hruska passes the puck up to Leos Cermak who bypasses the defenseman, carrying the puck almost to the goalline before passing it back in front to HYNEK ZOHORNA who one-times it past Rehor into the top corner for the goal! Assists: Leos Cermak, Jan Hruska
After a great play by Petrovicky in the neutral zone to strip Chomutov of the puck, he skates into the offensive zone, gaining some room behind the net and passes off to Radek Dlouhy who takes a shot on Rehor and the rebound bounces off to JURAJ VALACH who nets it to make it 2-0 for Kometa. Assists: Radek Dlouhy, Robert Petrovicky
Kometa opens up the scoring after their pressure on the powerplay and shots from all sides pays off and TOMAS DIVISEK nets a rebound of a hard shot from the point! Assists: Radim Bicanek

In their first duel, last year's finalists were able to shut down the ExtraLiga newcomers 4-2 on their own ice thanks to 2 goals from Jakub Svoboda. In the second game, which was played in Brno, Kometa was able to quickly get into the lead and hold on for a 3-1 win. However in their last match together, Chomutov were able to scrape away with a win on home ice thanks to a goal by Yorick Treille in the 55th minute of play, ending what was a high-scoring game.
Today we can definitely expect that Chomutov will want to continue off that success but Kometa is also looking for the win, especially after losing to HC Sparta 2-1 after shootouts on Friday.
Even though it seems that the slide Kometa fell into after the National Team tournament in Russia has let up somewhat, they still haven't been able to win a game in regulation time since December 9th against HC Slavia Praha. It would seem that there would be no better time than now, in the 1000th round jubilee round of the Czech ExtraLiga, to turn things around. Still missing from today's lineup is Tomas Malec, however returning from an injury is Milan Hruska. It's also possible that Coach Vener will include Miroslav Holec who was off due to illness.
The Pirates are currently 12 points behind 10th place overall, which isn't a situation that can't be solved with 13 rounds left in the regular season, however it most probably looks like that this year's newcomer to the ELH won't make the playoffs. Even though they had a good start in the first quarter of the season, winning 7 games, they haven't been able to win at least two games in a row since the 14th round. Similarly to Liberec, who played against Kometa last Tuesday, the Pirates haven't been able to keep any of their opponents off the scoreboard while failing to score in 5 games.
