		After having controlled everything very well in the last 20 minutes, Avangard allowed themselves a penalty that led to the 4-3 through Niklas Persson. Later CSKA even had the chance for the equalizer but Rämö won the game for the home team which now has won four in a row! For CSKA it was the first loss after seven consecutive wins!

		CSKA used two power play goals to keep in touch with Avangard in the second period. In between it looked like Avangard would already have decided the match but Yakov Rylov brought hope back for the guests with 15 seconds left on the clock.

		Avangard Omsk are in an excellent position as Eastern Conference leaders with 89 points in 43 games. But today's opponents CSKA Moscow are also in a great situation, being second in Tarasov Division (4th in Western Conference) with 79 points in 41 games. Avangard just ended a three-game road trip with a perfect 3-0-0-0 record and 9 points by defeating Sibir Novosibirsk (3-1), Amur Khabarovsk (3-1) and Metallurg Novokuznetsk (5-3). CSKA Moscow even won seven in a row, including four at home, but recently they struggled a bit with three consecutive shootout wins - against Traktor Chelyabinsk (3-2 SO), Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (4-3 SO) and Metallurg Magnitogorsk (3-2 SO). Avangard's three topscorers after the end of the NHL lockout are Tomas Zaborsky (30 pts), Alexander Frolov (29 pts) and Alexander Popov (26 pts). CSKA can count with Alexander Radulov (50 pts), Yakov Rylov (24 pts) and Igor Radulov (18 pts) but with Pavel Datsyuk and Mikhail Grabovsky they lost two of their best forwards.
