		Only few people would have expected the match between Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis Balompié to be a top game for a European spot before the season. Rayo are 6th with 31 points in 20 games. Betis even have four points more and are on a Champions League spot just five points behind the super stars from Real Madrid. Rayo had four consecutive wins in the league, including victories over direct rivals Valencia CF and Levante UD, before being beaten in Granada (0-2) last Saturday. Betis also collected lots of points and seven of them only in the last three games against Real Zaragoza (2-1), Levante UD (2-0) and Athletic Bilbao (1-1). With three away wins in a row Betis should not be undererstimated. The head-to-head record between the two teams clearly speaks for Ryao Vallecano which have not lost against Betis in Spain's top division since 2001 and have grabbed three consecutive wins - two of them on the road - against the team from Seville. If one of the sides can improve their situation in the fight for a European spot, we'll see today.
