		Atlético Madrid gained a not undeserved 2-1 home win in the first legt of the Copa del Rey semifinals against Sevilla FC. The man of the match was Diego Costa who scored a double for the hosts. The game itself was very much influenced by referee Ayza Gámez who gave three penalties for handball and three red cards. There will be many discussions if really all three handballs were intended or not and especially the penalty for Sevilla and the direct red card against Godín were very harsh decisions.

	90+2	Arda Turan's shot is blocked but then Cebolla Rodríguez takes a volley that is cleared to the side by Beto with a spectacular save!

		The two teams needed a long time to create their first good chances but in the last 15 minutes of the first period especially Atlético had several big opportunities to score the lead! Diego Costa failed twice within only three minutes just before half time.

	44	Amazing long through ball to Diego Costa who in the 1-on-1 with Beto failed. His shot went just wide past the far post! Best chance of the game!
	42	Adrián with a cross from the right outside lane and Diego Costa tried it with a diving header completely left alone in front of Beto but he missed the ball by inches!

		When Atlético Madrid receive Sevilla FC for the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals tonight, the roles are more than clear. Atlético are playing one of their best season of the last decades in Primera División and are second, four points ahed of their city neighbours and archrivals Real Madrid. For Atlético qualifying for the Copa del Rey final would be a huge chance for a title while for Sevilla it is probably the only opportunity to save the season. They are only 11th in the league, eight points behind the European spots. In the previous rounds Atlético had few problems with their opponents Real Jaén, Getafe CF and Real Betis. For Sevilla high wins against league rivals Espanyol Barcelona, RCD Mallorca and Real Zaragoza pathed the way towards the semifinals. In their last league match Atlético Madrid lost in Bilbao (0-3) while Sevilla beat Granada (3-0) at home in the Andalusian derby. Which team will get the better result before the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals in four weeks, we'll see in a few minutes.
