For Espanyol the positive trend continues and they now have five-point advantage towards the relegation zone.
Suddenly OBAFEMI MARTINS was through alone after a perfect long pass and in the 1-on-1 with Espanyol goalkeeper Casilla he showed no nerves. Levante are back in fighting distance!
The double for the hosts!! Stuani with a nice dribbling at the right side of the Levante area, passes the ball back to SERGIO GARCIA and the Espanyol striker adds another one with a well-placed shot into the far corner!!!
A soft cross by Sergio García from the right side of the Levante area and from inside the six-yard box STUANI's header went in to restore the Espanyol lead!!!
And there is the equalizer. And that was also an extremly strange goal!! Espanyol defender Colotto tried to clear a long ball with a header back to his goalkeeper Casilla but instead his header came to RUBEN GARCIA who just head to stay where he was to get the header past Casilla!
Free kick for the hosts from the right wing through Simao and at the six-yard box David Navarro tries to get the ball away but the Levante defender's header hits just the back of his team colleague Iborra and from there it goes over the goal line! What a strange own goal!

In recent months Espanyol have improved significantly and only lost one of their last eight matches - they were beaten away by league leaders FC Barcelona in the city derby (0-4). Levante won their last three home matches but on the road they also lost three times in a row and that even without scoring a single goal against Rayo Vallecano (0-3), Real Betis (0-2) and Atlético Madrid (0-2).
The head-to-head record is pretty balanced between these two teams. Usually the home team had the advantage in the past but the last four times always Levante won.
If Espanyol can make a further step out of the relegation zone or if Levante can improve their situation in the fight for a European spot, we'll see this evening.
