LIONEL MESSI fires the ball into the left top corner from the penalty point for the equalizer! What a blast! No chance for Guaita at all.
And now the ball is in!! EVER BANEGA gets the deserved lead for Valencia! Soldado with the cross towards the six-yard box, Piqué with a header but the ball ends up in front of Banega who fired it into the left bottom corner!! No chance for Valdés!!

In recent weeks Valencia showed a clearly improved image and won four of their last five league matches. Still not everything was perfect for them as they had a setback against Real Madrid who they faced in the league (0-5) and in the quarter finals of the Copa del Rey (0-2/1-1). For Barcelona the 2-3 away loss against Real Sociedad two weeks ago was a real shock after 12 consecutive wins in the league but they gave the right answer last Sunday at home against CA Osasuna (5-1). In the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals they grabbed a 1-1 away against Real Madrid despite not playing too well on Wednesday.
After having been a serious opponent for FC Barcelona in the first years of the new millenium, Valencia CF were most often chanceless against the Cantalans in the Camp Nou afterwards but in their own Mestalla Stadium they were able to keep most games close and they had an 0-3-1 record in their last four home matches against Barcelona.
We can expect another close game between the two teams but everything but another Barcelona win should be a huge surprise.
