Atlético have cut the deficit towards FC Barcelona to 9 points and extended their advantage towards third placed Real Madrid to now 7 points.
Koke with the corner from the left side and in the middle nobody reaches the ball but at the second post DIEGO COSTA was there with a header from within the six-yard box to get the home side in front!

For Atlético recently away games have not been that successful with only one point in their last four appearances, including an 0-3 loss in their last league match against Athletic Bilbao, but at home they are a real power. In their own Vicente Calderón Stadium they have won all (!!!) matches this season in all competitions so far. In their last six home matches in Primera División they even stayed without a single goal against. Betis had a few problems in the last two weeks when they played at home against Athletic Bilbao (1-1) and away against Rayo Vallecano (0-3).
Both teams have met already three times this season. In the league Atlético grabbed a 4-2 away win while in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals they earned a 1-1 draw in Sevilla before throwing them out of the competition with a 2-0 home win.
A close game can be expected this evening. Everything but another Atlético win at home still would be a real surprise, as they can let Real Madrid eight points behind themselves after the team of José Mourinho lost in Granada (0-1) yesterday.
