In an even period Ak Bars gained a two-goal lead. When it looked like they already had decided the match, a late goal by Alexander Kulakov brought Dinamo back into fighting distance. In the last minute of regulation Dinamo played with an additional skater instead of their goalie but none of the teams was able to score anymore.

While Dinamo missed a big opportunity to qualify for the playoffs, Ak Bars cut the distance towards Avangard Omsk to just one point in their fight for the first place in the East.
