For Atlético this was the first away win after five matches with an 0-1-4 record. For Valladolid it was one of their rare losses at home and they might already say goodbye to any dreams for a Europa League spot.
After a long ball Rukavina wanted to give the ball back to Dani Hernández with his chest but Cristian Rodríguez anticipated the situation, went in between and fired the ball into the corner for the 3-0 in favour of Atlético!!
Arda Turan with a header from outside the Valladolid area towards Diego Costa whose shot from the six-yard box goes past Dani Hernández! Atlético have a 2-0 lead!
And the free kick brings the lead for the guests! Nice lob by Gabi into the area, Godín's shot is stopped by Dani Hernández but the rebound comes to FALCAO who scores into the wide open net!

Valladolid stayed unbeaten in four of their last five matches, with two consecutive draws recently against Athletic Bilbao (2-2) and Real Betis (0-0). The team only lost two matches at home since September and this was against the top teams Real Madrid (2-3) and FC Barcelona (1-3). Atlético Madrid's success is based on their strength in their own stadium where they won all matches this season in all competions until they were beaten on Thursday by Rubin Kazan (0-2) in the first leg of the round of the last 32 in Europa League. In away matches though they suffered a lot in recent weeks and only gained one point in their last five league matches on the road. Last week they lost away against Rayo Vallecano (1-2).
The overall head-to-head record between the two teams clearly favours Atlético Madrid but in Valladolid it is very balanced. When both teams met at the start of the season Atlético won 2-1. The last match in Valladolid in January 2010 ended with a 4-0 win for Atlético.
If Valladolid can make a step towards the European spots or if Atlético can end their negative trend, we'll see soon.
