    Avangard defended their 2-0 lead well in the last 20 minutes and didn't allow many scoring opportunities for the guests from Novosibirsk. In the end the favourites won this series with 4-3 over the full distance. The home advantage was decisive for the favourites Avangard today. Outsiders Sibir more than once showed all their class in this series and gave Avangard a great fight for the pleasure of fans and media!

    Avangard still have to wait until the other two games today ended before they know their opponents for the second round.
