    It was an anti-climatic game that saw Deporto stick to an expected conservative game plan. Barca had their chances, but Deporto's goalkeeper Aranzubia was stellar.

    The only real story for the night was Messi coming off the bench and scoring his 40th league goal to preserve his record 17 game scoring streak.

    However, Barca seems to be missing their magic despite the win. They will need to find their magic soon as they head into a Champions League match that has them down.

    It has been a rough past few games for one of the worlds most legendary clubs. But Barcelona looks to silence their critiques and right the losing path they have been on with a win against Deportivo La Coruna.

    Barca is coming off of their worse run in five years, but they still remain 11 points ahead of Real Madrid atop the league table. At the very end of the table is Deportivo. They stopped a eight game losing skid with a tie last weekend, but with 12 games remaining in the season they need wins if they wish to stay in La Liga next season.

    Barca will be without the services of Xavi and Marc Barta in today’s match.
