		With three consecutive goals in just six minutes at the start of the second half favourites Real Madrid turned the match around in their favour! Mallorca kept the match open afterwards but were not able to answer anymore. Instead Benzema added the 5-2 for Real in the additional time to give his team the 6th consecutive win in La Liga!

		Before the current matchday Real Madrid were second in Primera División with 58 points in 27 games. Though they still have 13 points less than archrivals FC Barcelona they were able to get past their city neighbours Atlético Madrid who now have one point less than Real. Today's guests RCD Mallorca are 18th in the league with 24 points and a two-point deficit towards the non-relegation zone. For Real Madrid everything is fine at the moment. They reached the Copa del Rey finals by throwing out of competition their big rivals FC Barcelona and they won the entry to the Champions League quarterfinals by beating Manchester United. In the league they won all their last five matches against Sevilla FC (4-1), Rayo Vallecano (2-0), Deportivo La Coruña (2-1), FC Barcelona (2-1) and Celta de Vigo (2-1). For Mallorca the last weeks were also successful with wins against Andalusian teams Granada CF (2-1) and Sevilla FC (2-1). The head-to-head record shows a clear advantage for Real Madrid, especially during games in the Bernabeu Stadium. During the last 7 league matches between the two clubs Real Madrid won 6!
