    In the second half Messi made everything clear early with a perfect lob after a fast counter attack of the hosts. When Tamudo entered the pitch for the guests he scored after just one minute and both teams had several big opportunities to change the result further into their favour but failed all of them.

    With his win Rayo stay outside of the European spots while Barcelona re-gained their 13-point advantage torwards second-placed Real Madrid.
