Deportivo now have cut the deficit towards Zaragoza and thus the non-relegation zone to just one point!
After a corner from the left side the ball hit the chest of ABRAHAM and went into his own net from there from inside the six-yard box! Unlucky for him but a very deserved goal for Deportivo for a 3-2 lead!
Another free kick cross by Pizzi from the right wing turned out to be extremly dangerous. Somehow MARCHENA received the ball after a header by Aguilar to score the equalizer from short distance! No chance at all for guest goalkeeper Roberto!
Out of the blue the guests turn the result around! Manuel Pablo lost the ball in his own half and then PACO MONTANES received a through ball that let him be in a 1-on-1 with Aranzubia which he won for the 2-1 Zaragoza lead!
HELDER POSTIGA with a hard penalty shot into the left bottom corner for the fast equalizer! Aranzubia touched the ball but couldn't stop it anymore!
What a beautiful combination by the home side! They gave the ball four times to the left so that it landed on the left side of the Zaragoza 18-yard box. With a nice move BRUNO GAMA went past his opponent and fired the ball into the left bottom corner for the early lead!

After a long negative trend Deportivo gained two very important wins against Celta de Vigo (3-1) and RCD Mallorca (3-2) in the last two weeks. Zaragoza stayed without a win in the last 12 matches and only earned five points in these but in the last match they gained a draw against Real Madrid (1-1) in their own stadium.
The head-to-head record between the two teams is very balanced. Deportivo weren't able to win at home against Zaragoza though since the year 2006. The first match of this season ended with a 5-3 win for Zaragoza.
If one of the teams can make a big jump away from the relegation zone, we'll see soon!
