Thank you for following the game with us! Have a good night! (21:52:49)

Deportivo started very well into the second half with several big scoring opportunities of whcih they used one to get the 3-2 game winner. In the last 20 minutes Zaragoza finally played with heart but with 10 men after the sending off of Abraham they were not able to score anymore.

Deportivo now have cut the deficit towards Zaragoza and thus the non-relegation zone to just one point!

    Game over.

    90+5
Shot by Bienvenu, blocked for a throw-in and still no final whistle!

    90+4
The guests waited incredibly long with the execution of the free kick which then was blocked by Pizzi!

    90+3
Dangerous free kick position for Zaragoza 25 metres in front of the net.

    90+1
Pizzi waited for the cross-pass from the right wing just inside the six-yard box but somehow the Zaragoza defense was able to clear the situation in the very last moment.

    90
Four minutes are added to the game.

    90
Deportivo head coach Fernando Vázquez has been sent off for protesting too much!

    89
A weak cross from the right side of the Depor area costs Zaragoza valuable seconds.

    88
Again there is an offside call against Pizzi and this time it's wrong!

    86
Manuel Pablo who had barely any power left in his body is substituted with Ayoze. Last change also for Deportivo.

    85
Salomao with a nice cross from the left side of the guest area but in the last moment Álvaro clears at cost of a corner.

    84
Last possible change by the guests from Zaragoza. Carmona is in for Rodri.

    83
The guests continue with their pressure despite playing with 10 men. Well, they have little left to lose, right?

    81
Abraham (Zaragoza) sees his second yellow card for a tactical foul against Pizzi.

    81
With less than ten minutes of regular time left to play, Zaragoza are getting stronger by every minute. They really want to force the late equalizer.

    79
Fast attack by the guests over the left wing. The home defense was only able to clear the situation with a lot of trouble but in the end an offside call saved them.

    78
The new guest midfielder Bienvenu has his first chance with a header at the second post but the ball goes wide!

    76
Zaragoza also have their second change for this evening. Romaric leaves the pitch for Bienvenu.

    75
Roberto with the interception after Depor executed a free kick very fast.

    74
Second change by the hosts. Riki leaves the pitch with standing ovations. In for him is Salomao.

    73
Since the third Depor goal Zaragoza are investing a lot more than during the first half but still they don't find a way how to set the hosts under pressure.

    71
Loovens (Zaragoza) is booked for a tactical foul against Pizzi when he avoided a counter attack.

    70
Currently the referee denies a lot of free kicks on both sides. Seems he wants to give the game more room to develop.

    68
The ball is in the guests' net but before there had been an offside call as Pizzi started a second too early.

    67
Clear offside position by Rodri who would have been through in a 1-on-1 with Aranzubia...

    67
The guests from Zaragoza are finally able to create some pressure themselves again.

    66
Marchena (Deportivo) sees the next yellow card for a foul from the side in the midfield. Looks like the referee is losing controll a bit of this game.

    65
Heavy sliding tackle by Romaric on the outside lane that hits the referee's assistant aswell.

    63
The game has really calmed down after the recent changes.

    61
First change by the hosts. Deportivo's Zé Castro is in for Aythami who had provoked the penalty shot for Zaragoza in the first half.

    60
Corner for Zaragoza but they lose the ball. Then there is an offensive foul against Manuel Pablo.

    59
First change of the game, executed by the guests from Zaragoza. Víctor is in the match for Edu Oriol.

    57
And Roberto (Zaragoza) already has been booked. Probably the goalkeeper protested too much!

    57
Riki (Deportivo) sees a yellow card for a foul in the midfield.

    55
    Goal for Deportivo!

After a corner from the left side the ball hit the chest of ABRAHAM and went into his own net from there from inside the six-yard box! Unlucky for him but a very deserved goal for Deportivo for a 3-2 lead!

    54
The free kick led to the next big one for Depor! Aythami made a header from short distance that was cleared by a defender in the last moment on the goal line!

    54
Sapunaru with a tactical foul against Pizzi on the left wing but the referee doesn't give him the second yellow card... very, very lucky decision in favour of Zaragoza!

    52
The next huge opportunity for Deportivo! The corner from the left side was extended by Aguilar and Aythami who waited on the right side of the six-yard box only hit the goal post from short distance! Incredible what chances the hosts waste today!

    52
Rodri lost the ball close to his own team's 18-yard box and only stopped the attack with a kcik against Valerón!

    51
A shot by Pizzi from the left side of the guest area is deflected at cost of a corner.

    50
Riki was just half a metre offside after a nice through ball nby Valerón. He would have been alone in the 1-on-1 with Roberto...

    49
Zaragoza have more ball possession and try to take over the initiative while Deportivo wait for fast counter attacks. Could be a tactical change for the whole second half.

    47
Manuel Pablo (Deportivo) sees a yellow card for coming to late against Rodri in the midfield.

    47
As there were no changes made in the half time break, it''ll be interesting to see if both teams – and especially Deportivo – can continue with their high speed.

    46
    Start of 2nd half.

In a very emotional and entertaining first half Deportivo were the far more active side and had multiple big scoring opportunities but failed most of them. After an early lead through Gama two mistakes by the Depor defense made possible the penalty shot strike by Helder Postiga and the following goal by Montanes. In the end Marchena saved the home side at least a 2-2 after 45 minutes. Stay tuned for the second half!

    1st halftime finished.

    45
The hosts don't make it through on the right wing but stay in ball possession.

    42
The match seems to calm down a bit after the 2-2 but it's still mostly football into one direction and only Deportivo play.

    40
    Goal for Deportivo!

Another free kick cross by Pizzi from the right wing turned out to be extremly dangerous. Somehow MARCHENA received the ball after a header by Aguilar to score the equalizer from short distance! No chance at all for guest goalkeeper Roberto!

    37
The guests from Zaragoza are playing with a lot more patience now and are able to keep Deportivo away from their goal.

    35
    Goal for Zaragoza!

Out of the blue the guests turn the result around! Manuel Pablo lost the ball in his own half and then PACO MONTANES received a through ball that let him be in a 1-on-1 with Aranzubia which he won for the 2-1 Zaragoza lead!

    33
Aguilar (Deportivo) is booked for protesting too heavily as he thought the ball had crossed the goal line completely!

    33
After a long delay in the execution of the free kick Pizzi brought it towards the near post from where it was extended to Aguilar whose header from the second post was blocked on the goal line by Roberto! What a chance!

    32
Free kick for the hosts from the right wing.

    30
Zaragoza are able to free themselves a bit from the pressure recently without creating any danger though.

    28
Nice dribbling by Valerón in the midfield but his pass with the outside of his right foot then went wide...

    27
The next good opportunity for the home side! Pizzi with a shot towards the near post that is just kept outside of the net by Roberto and Riki gets the rebound which again is blocked by Roberto!

    25
The match is becoming the intense fight expected by many. Everything seems possible at the moment.

Deportivo are tryting to take over the initiative again as soon as possible!

    16
    Goal for Zaragoza!

    13
Depor continue with their pressure. Have the game under controll completely now.

    11
    Goal for Deportivo!

What a beautiful combination by the home side! They gave the ball four times to the left so that it landed on the left side of the Zaragoza 18-yard box. With a nice move BRUNO GAMA went past his opponent and fired the ball into the left bottom corner for the early lead!

    6
For further treatment Riki left the pitch and Depor are just 10 at the moment.

    5
Riki and Loovens with a crash in the midfield – head vs head! That really looked painful! Whille the defender was on his feet very soon again Riki needs attention by the medical staff.

    4
Romaric with a distance shot for Zaragoza, goes several metres wide past the right post.

    3
Pizzi with a cross from the right wing that is far too high...

    2
The home side starts with a lot of pressure. Deportivo know that everything but a win this evening against their direct rivals would be a huge setback!

Deportivo La Coruña receive Real Zaragoza for one of the most important matches of this La Liga weekend. While Deportivo are 20th and thus last in Primera División with 23 points in 29 games and four points less than the relegation zone, the guests from Zaragoza are 17th with 27 points and just three points above the relegation zone.

After a long negative trend Deportivo gained two very important wins against Celta de Vigo (3-1) and RCD Mallorca (3-2) in the last two weeks. Zaragoza stayed without a win in the last 12 matches and only earned five points in these but in the last match they gained a draw against Real Madrid (1-1) in their own stadium.

The head-to-head record between the two teams is very balanced. Deportivo weren't able to win at home against Zaragoza though since the year 2006. The first match of this season ended with a 5-3 win for Zaragoza.

If one of the teams can make a big jump away from the relegation zone, we'll see soon!
