		Athletic were the better side this afternoon and had the far better opportunities but in the end they are lucky to get a 1-1 on the road against Depor as they played with 10 men for the last 15 minutes. While Depor extend their unbeaten streak Bilbao made another step away from the relegation zone.

Just before the half time break though Fernando Llorente was able to tie the match with a header into the left bottom corner! Stay tuned for the next 45 minutes!

		Before this matchday Deportivo La Coruña were 16th in Primera División with 29 points in 31 games and a two-point advantage towards the relegation zone. Today's opponents Athletic Bilbao were in a more comfortable situation as 14th with 35 points and thus eight points more than the first relegation spot. Deportivo looked more than done after a long negative streak before they freed themselves from the biggest trouble with four consecutive wins against Celta de Vigo (3-1), RCD Mallorca (3-2), Real Zaragoza (3-2) and Levante UD (4-0). On the other side Bilbao saved themselves with several key wins in recent weeks before losing the last two matches against Sevilla FC (1-2) and Real Madrid (0-3). The head-to-head record gives a clear advantage for the home side in each Primera División match between the two teams. And in the last three matches Deportivo stayed unbeaten against Athletic by winning twice 2-1 and gaining a 1-1 draw on the road earlier this season. If Deportivo can increase their winning streak or if Athletic can make a huge jump towards staying in the league, we'll see soon!
