It was a close game – probably closer than most would have expected – but in the end Finland were able to get a 3-1 win against the underdogs from France. After the goal by Bellemare at the start of the third period the game was open again but a deflected blue line shot made everything clear for Finland who now have excellent chances for a top spot in the Helsinki group! For France the fight for the quarterfinals continues.
