		The Americans conquered the first spot in the Helsinki group thanks to a dominant performacne against rather tired Germans who still had the close game against Latvia from yesterday in their bones. Shots on goal: USA 10 (29 – Germany 12 (30)

	59:52	Marcel Goc missed the puck just right to the American net.
	58:47	Nate Thompson (USA) gets two minutes for elbowing. He hit Benedikt Kohl behind the American net.
	58:19	Philip Gogulla with a shot from the left circle, no danger for Gibson.
	58:00	Two minutes left to play. Only open question. Will Gibson get his shutout?
	56:23	Shot break because the Americans cleared the puck which ended up on the team benches.

	50:10	Twice the chance for the USA. After a give away of the German defense Endras kept the following shot from within the slot out of the net but allowed a rebound which he also stopped by throwing himself onto the ice.

	47:37	After a counter attack the Germans had a huge double chance! First Patrick Hager had a brilliant solo through the whole American defense before he was stopped from short distance by Gibson and then Moritz Müller had the rebound from a half left position but his shot went just wide over the right top corner!
	46:35	Aaron Palushaj (USA) gets two minutes for slashing – 4 on 4 now.
	46:35	Christian Ehrhoff (Germany) gets two minutes for tripping.

	46:22	Palushaj was all alone on the left wing but stopped and gave a perfect pass towards the slot from where Bjugstad's shot went just wide! Good opportunity for the Americans.
	44:49	Yannic Seidenberg with a harmless shot from a half left position into the gloves of Gibson.
	44:30	Germany looks a bit tired in this third period. They probably also want to save engery for the important Tuesday match against France.
	42:47	Almost the break away for Bobby Butler but he needed to long on the left wing and three Germans came back into their own third in time.
	41:30	The Americans came very aggressively out of the dressing rooms and already had one big opportunity through Stephen Gionta but Endras made a brilliant pad save from short distance!

		In an even middle period the Americans had the slightly better opportunities, inclduing a penalty shot which was missed by Palushaj but in the end the fans in Helsinki saw no further goals. Shots on goal: USA 8 (19) – Germany 7 (18)

	37:11	Patrick Hager forces his way past two opponents but his shot from short distance while falling to the ice was no danger anymore for Gibson.

	35:07	Philip Gogulla receives the puck inside the slot and tries it with a fast shot but blocked by Gibson.
	34:07	Nate Thompson (USA) gets two minutes for illegal equipment. He lost his helmet but instead of skating towards the bench immidiately, he particpated unallowed in the following play.
	33:42	Delayed penalty against the Americans, Endras left his net for an additional skater.
	33:24	Long pass by a German defender towards the American blue line but no team colleague was there to stop it and the puck ended up behind the net for an icing.
	32:39	Palushaj waited long during his penalty shot and tried to deke him out to score into the right corner but the puck went over the crossbar!
	32:39	Out of the blue the break away opportunity for Aaron Palushaj who received the puck at the German blue line but Endras made a jump to the right corner and blocked his shot. As Hager hit Palushaj before there is a penalty shot now for the USA!
	31:26	The Americans are back at full strength after a good German power play.

	30:50	Another nice combination by the Germans and this time Gogulla failed to score from short distance!
	30:29	Brilliant pass by Philip Gogulla from the blue line towards the left post but Michael Wolf missed the puck just in front of Gibson!
	29:26	Aaron Palushaj (USA) gets two minutes for slashing.
	29:12	3-on-2 counter for Germany, Greilinger is blocked unfair but still gets a shot on goal which is stopped by Gibson but there was a delayed penalty against the Americans.
	28:29	Nice solo by an American forward who tried to score into the left bottom corner from just left to the German net but Endras covered up the corner in time.
	27:22	The Americans prepare their next attack behind their own net and take a lot of time doing so which gives Germany the chance to make a complete line change.
	26:14	Fast attack by the Germans and Marcel Noebels tried it with a shot already at height of the blue line that was blocked to the side with a pad save by Gibson.

	25:00	The Americans have a lot of puck possession in the German third while the Germans are barely able to force them out of there.
	23:24	Stephen Gionta with a hard check behidn the German net against Benedikt Kohl who didn't see him come and almost had his head crashed into the boards. No penalty though...
	23:16	The Germans are a lot more aggressive in their own defense than during the first period and the Americans have problems to create danger now.
	22:27	Patrick Hager with a dangerous cross-pass from the right wing but his two team colleagues who came with him were not able to reach the puck.

	20:56	The Americans still have much of their power play left and try to use it. Paul Stastny with two scoring attempts from within the slot but both times a defender was in between with the block.

		After a perfect start with two fast goals the Americans failed to score more often against Germans who became stronger in the middle of the period. Shots on goal: USA 11 – Germany 11

	19:57	A last rush in this period by the USA but an offside call stops them.
	19:32	Moritz Müller (Germany) gets two minutes for holding.
	19:12	Patrick Hager with a nice solo for the Germans, left two opponents behind himself and then triedit with a shot from the left circle which only hit the chest of Gibson.
	18:28	A pass was deflected behind the American net and then caught in the air by Gibson.
	17:45	Several good combinations by the USA recently but always a defender or Endras are in between.
	17:06	After a fast attack by the Americans Danny Kristo stopped and waited for his team colleagues but his pass from the left wing back to the blue line was not precise enough and went back into the neutral zone.

	14:21	Almost the shorthanded goal for the Americans. Suddenly Aaron Palushaj was all alone in a 1-on-1 breakaway with Endras but failed to deke him out!

	10:29	Just when the American penalty was about to expire Tim Stapleton had a good opportunity from just right to the German net but Endras was there with a pad save!

Erik Johnson skated towards the net coming from the right faceoff circle and gave a pass to PAUL STASTNY whose first shot was blocked before he used his own rebound for the 2-0 already! Assisted by Erik Johnson.
	02:39	Goal for Team USA! Great passing by the power play formation of the Americans. Justin Faulk tried it with a blue line shot which was deflected by two players in front of Endras and BOBBY BUTLER was the first to react and send the puck into the wide open net for the early lead in power play! 		The USA are the big favourites this afternoon in the match against Germany. In the case of a win today the Americans (12 pts) would become leaders in the Helsinki group ahead of co-hosts Finland. Germany on the other side had two consecutive 2-0 wins against Austria and Latvia and with a win they would enter the quarterfinal positions. Which team can reach their goal, we'll see soon.
