    Once again, a shootout settles a big confrontation between Canada and Sweden in the Swedes' favour. Canada held a wide edge in play through two period but could only manage a one-goal advantage, and Sweden battled back with a strong 3rd period and then won the shootout.

    On Saturday, Sweden will play Finland in the first semifinal, followed by Switzerland-USA in the other. Thanks for following and don't forget to tune in for those games! (22:58:21)

    By many accounts, group host Sweden underferformed in the preliminary round, but they still won 5 of 7 games and claimed 3rd place. They did most of that without Henrik and Daniel Sedin and Alexander Edler, all of whom joined the team for the last round robin game against Denmark, and performed admirably.

    Canada finished 2nd in the group, losing only once to Switzerland in a shootout. Since that game and their victory over Sweden, they've added defencemen Dan Hamhuis and P.K. Subban.
