		It wasn't a brilliant game but a deserved win for Spain against Uruguay. The current World Champions controlled the match relatively easily before they took a foot from the gas during the last 20 minutes. They were punished for that when Luis Suárez scored via direct free kick but in the end they defended the 2-1 and lead group B now with 3 points.
		Game over.
	90+4	Spain controlls the ball easily deep inside the Uruguayn half. Nothing should happen in the remaining seconds anymore.
	90+2	Soldado was through alone after a nice through ball and just before the border of the 18-yard box he was fouled very clearly by his opponent – should have been red card and free kick but the Japanese referee signalled no foul...!!

	89	Free kick on the other side of the pitch by Sergio Ramos, goes at least 10 metres over the crossbar. Maybe next time American Football for him.
	87	Goal for Uruguay! Out of nothing, nothing, nothing the underdogs from Uruguay cut the Spanish lead to the half! Liverpool striker LUIS SUAREZ with a brilliant free kick goal from about 25 metres distance into the left bottom corner! No chance at all for Casillas!
	85	Not much time left in this game and the first spectators already left the stadium. Nobody really believes in a comeback by Uruguay.
	82	Harmless shot on goal by Soldado from about 22 metres distance, no problem for Muslera.
	81	And as announced Pedro leaves the pitch. Chelsea's Mata gets 10 minutes.
	80	Pedro has had cramps multiple times in recent minutes. Doubtful if he can continue. Spain have one opportunity left to make a change.
	78	It's a bit like a training match in this second half for Spain. The resistance by Uruguay is very limited and they are not forced to work hard.

		Spain clearly dominated the first 45 minutes and gained a deserved 2-0 lead through goals by Pedro and Soldado. They even could have scored more often but Fábregas (left goal post) and Piqué (goalkeeper) were stopped in the last moment. Stay tuned for the second half!

	25	Uruguay is finding a bit better into the match now with standard situations but still they haven't created any danger so far.
	23	Luis Suárez with a lot of optimism, goes into a duel with three denfesemen and in the end he even wins a free kick for his team inside the Spanish half.
	20	Goal for Spain! With their first corner of the match the Spaniards get in front! The first ball was blocked by the defense but then PEDRO RODRIGUEZ tried it with a hard shot from a central position from about 20 metres distance towards the right bottom corner that was deflected into his own net by Lugano!
	18	Flat cross by the Spaniards from the left side of the Uruguay area towards the six-yard box and Soldado just misses the ball. Again the service came from Alba.
	16	Harmless looking shot by Iniesta from about 18 metres distance but Muslera had a lot of trouble to clear the situation and almost boxed the ball into his own goal.
	15	Cavani tries to get speed into the Uruguayan game on the left wing but his pass to Luis Suárez then is blocked.
	14	A lot of space for Uruguay in the midfield but instead of trying it with a counter they use a high ball that is stopped by a defender.
	12	Back heel attempt by Fábregas deep inside the Uruguay half but the ball is intercepted.

	10	Out of the blue Spain have the first big, big opportunity of the match! Cesc Fábregas received the ball at the border of the Urugay area and then tried it with a fast shot that hit the left post! Muslera would have had no chance at all to avoid this goal if it was placed better!
	9	The South Americans try it with a long ball that ends up in front of the feet of a Spanish defender. So far Uruguay looks a little helpless.
	7	A beautiful solo by Iniesta inside the Uruguay half but in the end he had no team mate around him who could have helped him and he lost the ball.
	5	Fábregas and Soldado wait inside the Urugay area and miss a cross by Jordi Alba from the left wing just by inches.
	5	Uruguay stands very deep in their own half in these first minutes which already earns them negative feedback by the fans.
	3	Spain start with a lot of ball possession in the midfield and many short passes. They also play a 4-3-3 system as FC Barcelona does which is no surprise as 7 out of the 11 players on the pitch for Spain are players from Barcelona.

		Current World champions Spain start their Confed Cup adventure against Copa America champions Uruguay for the first match in group B. In their preparation for this tournament Spain couldn't convince in test matches against Haiti (2-1) and Ireland (2-0). For Uruguay the preparation was a lot more successful when they beat favourites France in a test match (1-0) before beating their direct competitors Venezuela (1-0) to keep their chances in the South America WC qualification alive. From their rosters Spain are the favourites but Uruguay also showed their class at the highest level in the past years. If one of the teams can get a very important win for the start, we'll see soon.
