Brazil now seem as the top favourites for next year's World Championship that will also take place in Brazil while Spain will have to make a lot of changes in their team if they want to have a chance next year.

Brazil very easily beat Spain with 3-0 to win the 2013 Confederations Cup in a very emotional final match in the legendary Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

    Game over.

    85
Harmless corner by Spain, easily cleared by the hosts.

    83

    78
Neymar with another solo run but under pressure of two Spainiards he can't get a decent shot on goal anymore.

    74
Pedro with a slight touch on the foot of Neymar and the Brazilian midfielder goes down very easily.

    71
A shot by Sergio Ramos at height of the penalty shot point goes just past the left post but there was no power in this shot.

    69
Neymar with a free kick from about 22 metres distance, goes just over the left top corner.

    68

    63
Neymar with a nice through ball for Marcelo whose cross from the left side of the Spanish area wasn't that well and just hit the side netting.

    61
Brazil leaves the Spanish team a lot of space and ball possession just to create more danger in a few seconds with counter attacks than Spain is able to create during several minutes.

    59
Fernando Torres who had a complete off-day leaves the pitch for David Villa – currently 7 Barcelona players are on the field.

    49
If Spain continues with the current performance they'll suffer a real humiliation!

    47
    Goal for Brazil!

Huge mistake by the Spanish defense and FRED scores the 3-0 for Brazil! He suddenly appeared on the left side of the Spanish area and was left alone by the new man Azpilicueta to get a well-placed shot into the wide open net past Casillas!

    46
Spain with one change in the half time break. For the already booked and tonight terrible playing Arbeloa new in the match is Azpilicueta to strengthen the Spanish defense.

    46
    Start of 2nd half.

Brazil completely dominated the first half against the current World Champions from Spain who were rather helpless in defense as in offense and had only one big opportunity. Fred just after the start and Neymar just before the end of the half earned a deserved 2-0 lead for the hosts who could in less than an hour earn another trophy.

    1st halftime finished.

    45+2
Pedro is through on the right wing but he is called back by the referee who already blew the whistle.

    45
Two minutes are added to the first half.

    44
    Goal for Brazil!

Beautiful one-two combination between Neymar and Oscar. The Chelsea player gives the ball back to Neymar who from about 10 metres distance fires the ball into the left corner just below the crossbar! No chance at all for Casillas! What a blast! 2-0 Brazil and absolutely deserved!

    43
Marcelo with a long run through the midfield, jumps into his opponent and wants a free kick. Absolutely ridiculous and the referee lets the play continue.

    42
Harmless cross by Fred from the right wing into the gloves of Casillas.

    40
What a huge, huge, huge opportunity for Spain!!!!!!!! Absolutely perfect through ball by Mata to the right for Pedro who wins the 1-on-1 with Julio César and his shot from short distance goes towards the left bottom corner but out of the blue David Luiz jumps into the shot and somehow clears the situation! Absolutely unbelievable!

    38
Spain with a lot of ball controll but only in the midfield without getting closer to the Brazilian net...

    36
After Spain wasn't able to get the ball into the Brazilian area, there was another counter for Brazil but this time Arbeloa did a great job against Neymar as last man and even won a free kick.

    35
Iniesta with several nice moves, wins a free kick on the left outside lane inside the Brazilian half.

    33
Corner by Neymar from the right side, the header by Fred goes wide.

    32
Huge counter opportunity for Brazil! Jordi Alba loses the ball and after a brilliant through ball by Neymar it was Fred who failed in the 1-on-1 opportunity with Casillas!

    31
Sergio Ramos wins a free kick close to the Brazilian area, almost at height of the endline but the following direct free kick is blocked.

    29
Very dangerous free kick position for Brazil 20 metres in front of the Spanish net but the hard shot by Hulk goes wide significantly.

    28
Sergio Ramos (Spain) holds Oscar's jersey and the Brazilian goes down immidiately in front of the Spanish area – only yellow say the Brazilians but Ramos was not the last man and had team colleagues next to himself.

    26
Oscar with a brutal foul from behind intot he legs of Iniesta deep in the Spanish half, the weak referee Kuipers doesn't give a card...

    24
A shot by Fred from about 20 metres distance goes wide past the left post – not by much.

    24
Slowly but steadily the Spainards are having the game under their controll in the midfield but they have problems with the aggressive forechecking by the Brazilians.

    23
Harmless free kick opportunity by Sergio Ramos, goes wide.

    20
The following corner led to a header by Torres that went over the crossbar.

    19
Iniesta is the leader for Spain. He tries it with a distance shot from about 25 metres towards the left bottom corner that is kept outside with a nice save by Julio César at cost of a corner.

    18
Weak through ball by Mata for Torres who has no chance at all to reach it at the Brazilian area.

    17
Whenever there is a foul or a close decision by the referee all players of both teams get into heavy discussions.

    15
Arbeloa (Spain) sees a yellow card for a foul as last man against Neymar whom he did hold close to the center line. Luck for the Spanish defender that he is still on the pitch.

    14
Crosses from both sides by the Spanish team but more than a weak header off target by Torres isn't reached.

    13
Paulinho fights for the ball like a lion and tries it immidiately with a lob that almost surprises Casillas who stood too far away from his own goal line! In the end the Spanish goalkeeper caught the ball with huge problems.

    11
Brazil controlls the ball easily on the whole pitch. Spain still has to find a way to stop them.

    9
A lot of emotions here. Fernando Torres clearly hits Marcelo on the wing but tells the referee that it would have been a dive.

    8
Nice combination by the Brazilians over the left wing. First Neymar with a flat cross, extended by Fred and Oscar's shot from about 18 metres distance goes just past the left post!

    7
The Spanish players claim a possible handball by Marcelo inside his own area but "no" signals the referee. The ball hit his arm but it was no intentional move.

    7
Pedro tries it with a lob into the Brazilian box but Thiago Silva is in between and clears the situation.

    5
Neymar has a lot of space on the left wing but his long cross towards the second post goes wide – goal kick for Spain.

    3
The home fans are celebrating their team. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing.

    2
    Goal for Brazil!

Incredible! Already in the second minute FRED opens the score for Brazil! After a lob towards the six-yard box the ball was deflected by Neymar to Fred who fired the ball past Casillas while laying on the pitch! A lot of confusion in the Spanish defense during this scene!

Tournament hosts Brazil receive Spain in the legendary Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro for the final game of the 2013 Confederations Cup – a match highly anticipated both by players and fans of both teams.

Brazil had a relatively easy walk through the group stage with wins against Japan (3-0), Mexico (2-0) and Italy (4-2) before winning an exciting semifinal match against Uruguay (2-1) just in the final minutes after a hard fight.

Current World Champions Spain on the other side beat Uruguay (2-1), Tahiti (10-0) and Nigeria (3-0) for a perfect group stage performance before they had huge problems with Italy in the semifinal match (0-0) before they beat them 7-6 in the penalty shootout.

After the long match by Spain on Thursday the Brazilians are the clear favourites in this final match, especially as they had one day more to recover.
