SKA 10 (Kalinin 2, Martensson, Tikhonov 2, Kovalchuk, Makarov, Thoresen 2, Panarin)
Scorer is ROMAN SAVCHENKO who shots through many legs from central position 4-5 meters from goal. Crucial pass is provided by TALGAT ZHAILAUOV. Powerplay goal!
Barys 9 – Savchenko, Spiridonov, Bochenski 3, Gavrilin, Boyd, Kolesnikov, Rakhmanov
SKA 14 – KALININ, Martensson, Kucheryavenko, PONIKAROVSKY, Ketov, Thoresen, Semenov 2, Yudin, CERVENKA 2(1), Panarin, Ryasensky 2
ILYA KOVALCHUK provides great pass seconds after his team started to play full in strength and only three Barys players are on ice. DMITRIY KALININ doesn't have any trouble ending the puck into an empty net. ROMAN CERVENKA also gets a point for pass.
PATRICK THORESEN skates from blue line and finds ROMAN CERVENKA on the right side. CERVENKA one-times a hammer shot and beats helpless Ahonen. DMITRIY KALININ who passed the puvk to Thoresen is also credited with point for that.
ANDREI SIGARYOV skates inside the attacking zone on the right side. ALEXEI PONIKAROVSKY is faster, but is having defender beside him in the middle of the ice. SIGARYOV passes an easy puck, PONIKAROVSKY deflects it and surprises Ari Ahonen
Barys Astana – 11 (Savchenko, Semyonov, Dawes, Bochenski 2, Upper, BOYD 3(1), Blokhin, Kolesnikov
SKA St. Peterburg 13 – KAlinin 3, TIKHONOV 2(1), Kucheryavenko 2, KOVALCHUK, Ketov, Thoresen, Kuteikin, Panarin, Ryasensky
VIKTOR TIKHONOV scores powerplay goal for SKA after ILYA KOVALCHUK and ROMAN CERVENKA combine and provide great passes.
What a great team work from Barys guys – NIGEL DAWES and BRANDON BOCHENSKI exchange passes inside the attacking zone only to trick the defenders and Salak and find DUSTIN BOYD all by himself on the right side two meters away from goal – nice job!
ILYA KOVALCHUK gets the puck right after faceoff is thrown on his right side in offensive zone. EVGENY KETOV actually won in faceoff, passed the puck to KOVALCHUK who one-times it into the home net from in-between the circles
Barys played two home games so far and destroyed Severstal with 10:1 and then added nice 5:3 win over Lokomotiv on Tuesday.
SKA also is very convincing at the start of the season – they played three games so far and win all of them: vs Avangard 5:1, vs Avtomobilist 6:4 and vs Yugra again 5:1. The important thing is – they won all three as guests.
So – in next three hours we'll have one team off of their 100% so far. Let's see what happens.
