		In the third period the guests easily defended their comfortable lead and won 6-2 after both sides scored one goal each. Avangard Omsk couldn't stop the negative streak and they now lost all their last four matches in regulation to remain at just 8 points. For Yugra it was the 4th win of this season and the first after two consecutive losses. They now have 12 points. Shots on goal: Avangard 11 (26) – Yugra 4 (21)

		Last year Avangard Omsk were among the top teams of KHL's regular season with an downwards trend in the last weeks of the competition which continued also at the start of the 2013-14 season. Currently Avangard are 11th in Eastern Conference with just 8 points out of their first 7 games they are one point behind the last playoff spots. For Avangard their second home stint of the season comes just at the right moment after staying without a single point in their three game road trip against Ak Bars Kazan (0-6), Barys Astana (2-5) and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (1-4). Today's opponents HC Yugra had a slightly better start with three wins and three losses in regulation for the 7th position in the East with 9 points in 6 games. Yugra played all games at home so far and started well with 3 wins and 1 loss – against the only team that stays with a perfect record to this point, SKA St. Petersburg – but lost their last two matches against Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (1-2) and Barys Astana (2-6). Avangard already replaced their head coach early in the season – Czech coach Milos Riha took over the positiion by Petri Matikainen – and thus they are under huge pressure already. If they can stop their negative trend or if Yugra do so, we'll see soon!
