Vityaz was relocated in the off-season from Chekhov to Podolsk. In their new home the outsiders had a good start into the new KHL season for their conditions with 9 points in 8 games. As 10th in Western Conference they are currently just one point behind the playoff spots. Most recently they had a three-game road trip with mixed results against Lev Prague (1-4), Slovan Bratislava (4-1) and Dinamo Riga (1-6).

Todays's guests, conference rivals CSKA Moscow, stayed beyond their expectations so far with 13 points in 7 games but at least they are 7th in the West and on a playoff spot. After a horrible season opener against KHL newcomers Medvescak Zagreb (1-7) the CSKA players showed a good reaction in the following matches. Most recently they won three conseuctive games at home before they were beaten by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (1-2) on Saturday.

CSKA are the clear favourites this afternoon in their attempt to improve their situation in the West but Vityaz are always good for a surprise.
