Donbass destroyed (6:1) Avangard on Monday in Donetsk. They also won against Yugra and lest vs Barys, all at Druzhba Arena. They are currently on 5th position in Western Conference standings and have lost 4 only out of 11 games played so far.Their deadliest weapons so far – Maxim Yakutsenya 11(5+6), Evgeny Dadonov 9(5+4) and Randy Robitaille 9(3+6). Mike Leighton (Sv% 93.7) is also in good form.
And how about Avtomobilist? They were defeated in Zagreb against Medvescak on Monday and they didn't even score a goal. Prior to that they won against Spartak in Moscow (SO) and were destroyed by Barys in Astana (2:7). They have lost 5 out of 10 games played in 60 minutes and were in addition beaten in one SO game. To be fair, they have also won on two SO occasions. However, they've only managed to win 2 straight games in 60 minutes and are currently at 11th position in Eastern Conference standings. Jakub Kovar (Sv% 92.1) is in quite good form despite all losses; Anton Lazarev 7(1+6), Fyodor Malykhin 6(5+1) and Alexei Simakov 5(1+4) are the biggest threat for opposition.
Donbass is clearly favorite for this game, but we learned on many occasions that that doesn't mean much. Follow our live coverage.
