What can you say about the Metallurg power play? Their display in the late going this game was phenomenal. After not looking sharp most of the night, they come away with 2 points on the road, though, while Lev watched 3 points turn into 1 in a very short period of time. (23:51:41)

    Game over.

No penalty on the play, faceoff in the Lev zone.

    63:10
Now we've got a Lev player down and in considerable pain--defenceman Martin Sevc, who threw his gloves off. Play continued and Metallurg went in 2 on 1 and missed, but the Lev bench is enraged that play didn't stop when he seemed pretty badly hurt.

    60:01
    Overtime began.

We'll have five minutes of 4-on-4 sudden-death overtime. If nobody scores, it will be followed by a shootout. Overtime starts now.

What an unbelievable finish to that 3rd period. It just goes to show what a dangerous team this Magnitogorsk squad is and with a 6-on-4 numerical advantage, they're pretty hard to stop if you lose the faceoff.

Now Lev calls a timeout, so we have both teams using their timeouts on the same stoppage. Coach Sykora wants to make sure no one gets their signals crossed down 2 men.

    Timeout Metallurg--not a surprise here.
