    MED – Mathieu Carle – 18:32.

Ak Bars took complete control of the game, even when they desperately defended for seven minutes following Panarin's game misconduct. It didn't look so desparate as they scored twice in that period. This period could as well prove to be the game changer, if Medvescak will be unable to retrieve in the final 20 minutes.

    40:00
    2nd period finished.

    39:49
No real action by either side as the game calms for the end of the period.

    39:00

    38:46
Immediate action at the other end, though no big deal about it as Barry Brust takes control of the puck with his glove.

    38:19
A good offensive play by young Gal Koren to keep possession of the puck as he only defends it without playing it behind the Bars' net waiting for his team mates.

    37:55
Icing call against Bars as they clear the danger. The play will restart deep in front of Barulin.

    Assist: Alexei Tereshchenko.

    34:52
Probably five or six shots were fired now as Medvescak get the puck in front of Barulin but can't find the way to the net either being intercepted or wide of the goal.

    34:19
A fine feed from behind the goal line to the left circle for Mark Katic, but his shot to the near post can't find its way.

Medvescak hit the post from the right circle as Matt Ellison fired.

    30:12

    30:00
Grigory Panarin (AKB) will get called for high-sticking, but then he also smashed Matt Murley into the boards, who was defenseless and we see him off to the locker room with a game misconduct. He smashed him directly with his arm to the head, and he looks as if he had suffered a concussion. Vladimir Tkachyov will serve.

Panarin is called 2 min for holding, 5 min for checking to the head and 20 min game misconduct.

    29:26

    27:39
    Goal for Medvescak Zagreb!
A great offensive play by Medvescak in three passes from their zone to the offense as CHARLES LINGLET revceives a feed from the left boards in the neutral zone, takes a shot at once reaching the circle and scores into the upper right of Barulin's goal, his glove-side.

    25:58
Andrew Murray takes the puck in from the middle, but is whistled down for offside.

    25:18
Both teams are trying to establish a play on offense so there weren't a lot of shots lately mainly going end-to-end.

    23:46
Ak Bars is back at full strength.

    23:30
The puck finds itself amid four sticks outside the crease in the slot, no one can take a shot as Bars in the end clear the danger.

    22:38
Finally Medvescak have some offensive display but mainly back and forth on the right with a occasional feed that gets intercepted.

    22:14
The visitors can't establish a steady offense inside the Bars' area.

    21:46

Powerplay: AKB 1/2, MED didn't play
    Ice leaders:
    AKB – Ilya Nikulin – 8:52
    MED – Ivan Svarny – 9:45.

An interesting first period in which we expected a bit more from Medvescak, but Bars were lucky to strike twice. Their second goal looked much alike Glumac's attempt just outside the crease area. Medvescak will surely put even more pressure as the game progresses while Bars will look to keep the lead or maybe even increase it.

    20:00
    1st period finished.

    19:34
Medvescak try to enter the zone, and if they succeed just can't hold the puck or find a gap for a shot.

    19:00
One minute to go in the first.

    18:13
The puck gets back to Bars after a faceoff in the neutral zone so they will try to organize but can't leave the zone with that much pressure from their counterpart.

    17:46
Medvescak keep some possession in the zone, though lose the puck quickly as Bars clear the danger away.

    17:03
Luke Walker wins a battle at the left board for the puck getting the pass back from the circle area to the blue, but the one-timed shot gets blocked by the defense.

    15:59
A lot of aggression and brawl before Barulin's net as the puck slides through from the right to the opposite side with no one receiving the feed. Bars will restart from deep in their zone.

    14:57
It could have easily been 3 as Bars continue to dominate the first period with a shot from the slot going just wide to the left.

    14:22
    Goal for AK Bars!
MIKHAIL VARNAKOV lights the lamp again! Alexander Burmistrov makes a huge play behind the net coming from the right stops and dekes Matt Murley giving himself a lot of space to feed Varnakov at the right post who scores on a one-timer with inches away.

    Assist: Alexander Burmistrov.

    13:12
The puck can't find its way through the scramble as Glumac is fed from behind on the right post, fires a one-timer right into Barulin who stops the clock.

The shots are currently 6-5 in favour of Bars.

Bars continue to put more pressure as they keep possession inside Medvescak's territory.

    08:39
    Goal for AK Bars!
Although Medvescak were defending great during the penalty kill, a shot from the blueline by Shaun Heshka couldn't have been handled by Brust who drops it just in front of the crease for MIKHAIL VARNAKOV who tips it across the line.

    Assists: Shaun Heshka, Tim Stapleton.

    07:45
Medvescak clear the danger away as Bars try to dump it in from the right.

    07:03
As the faceoff comes deep into Medvescak zone Bars take the attack on immediately, but soon the danger is cleared and they have to regroup.

    06:57
High sticking call on Luke Walker as he hits Ilya Nikulin behind the net passing by. Bars will have the first powerplay of the game.

    05:26
Medvescak control the game most of the time putting high forecheck on Bars even in their own zone, but still Bars manage to generate shots inside the zone.

    04:32
An opportunity for Medvescak but they can't create the extra man firing from the blue, easy job for Barulin.

    03:31
A great opportunity by Bars as Dmitry Obkhov skates across the line, takes a shot on Brust who deflects into the slot, Tomas Vincour is on it trying to deke him out but hits the bar as he goes for a high shot.

    02:26
Bars try to enter the zone and create some shooting opportunities but Medvescak close the gaps and clear the danger away, with help from their goalie.

    01:16
So far we've seen a few shots on goal, but nothing serious, the game is mainly coast-to-coast and both teams are looking to spot the other one's weak spots.

    00:28
Tim Stapleton takes a hard slapper in the zone as Shaun Heshka feeds from the right, though Brust makes a stick deflection.

    00:09
The opening faceoff goes to Medvescak but they struggle immediately leaving the zone and ice the puck.

    00:01
    Game started.

Medvescak players received some whistling after they started skating following the Russian anthem, they didn't know that Tatar anthem is also intonated.
