    Final word:
    It almost seems that penalties decided the game. Guests suffered 6 penalty minutes during opening period and got two goals behind, although they didn't get any puck inside their net while playing shorthanded. Similar happened to Barys in second period – they suffered 3 minor penalties and got two pucks in their net; only this time one of Salavat Yulaev's goals was powerplay goal. And how about final period? Both teams were very careful and played less physical hockey. The only penalty of period was givena fter time had run out. Thanks to great action at the right moment home team got another leading goal and won the game. To be fair – it could have easily go the other way, but the win is well deserved for sure for Barys.

    Barys Astana remains on 2nd position in Eastern Conference standings (4th overall in league), Salavat Yulaev is 4th (6th in KHL). To name favorites for this game is extremely difficult. Although Astana's last game was dissapointing home defeat against Traktor (1:5) they have quality to beat just about any team in KHL. They have proved that on many occasions since current campaign started. On the other hand, Salavat Yualev preformed great in Khanty Mansysk and beat Yugra (5:4) on Monday; they were beaten at SO on the road vs. Avangard on Wednesday, but their performances are very stable and good.
